be hurtful to anyone left out.

And unfortunately, because of the large numbers of MNers, there are inevitably going to be lots of lovely lovely posters who don't get a mention. (btw, I would love to have a Brew with all those who kindly mentioned me, annd loads more too).

Just my opinion.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:23

noone ever taught you "if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all" then ;)

Esta3GG · 22/11/2011 10:25

if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all

Oh come on. If that were true AIBU would die on its arse.

MardyBra · 22/11/2011 10:25

Ha ha! If everyone stuck to that, Fanjo, there would be no AIBU!

OP posts:
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:26

yes, and i myself would never post Blush Grin

SoupDragon · 22/11/2011 10:27

"All this 'you're namechecked so you must be a saddo with no life to post so much' business does scratch my nips a little. Coming, as it does, from a position of such ignorance and crass generalisation and all.

Still, if it makes people feel better to make slightly bitter assumptions about others, I guess that's fine ."

Oh, that's not why I mentioned Saddos. I'm here all most of the time.

forehead · 22/11/2011 10:27

It's easy to slag off those who believe that these threads are silly and then label them as being jealous.
Some posters may actually think that these type of threads are actually 'silly' and somewhat desperate. Just my opinion.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:27

ooh "desperate" as well..anything else?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:28

would rather post on a "silly messing about " thread than be quite so nasty Wink

Esta3GG · 22/11/2011 10:31

This is why AIBU is entertaining - utterly irrational bunfights over sweet FA.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:32

you are right Esta..imagine wasting time calling people "silly and desperate" just for having a laugh Grin

forehead · 22/11/2011 10:33

Why are people getting annoyed just because i am giving an opinion.? It is just my opinion.

forehead..not annoyed..just think its a bit nasty to call people "desperate" for having a laugh.

MrGin · 22/11/2011 10:35

I think anyone who gets upset that they're not name checked in a popularity thread needs to get out in RL more.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:35

OMG. I agree with MrGin

MrGin · 22/11/2011 10:37

< throws bucket of cold water on Fanjo >

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:37

ok, better get ready for work. Sorry for those I have clearly offended by being annoyed at someone posting mean-spirited stuff, that's where all the fun is innit!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:38

not that I'm annoyed. Well, you know what I mean. I think.

rycooler · 22/11/2011 10:39

Nothing wrong in desperation - desperation can lead to creativity and wonderful ideas - I'm often desperate for all kinds of things - that's why I'm a success. I'd hate to be in a permanent state of boring mediocrity.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/11/2011 10:39

only on MN could someone come along and call people "desperate" for having a laugh, and then people would come on and defend that view and have a go at someone who objects to it.

Just for having a laugh
Mmm. How many times has that phrase been used to excuse behaviour others find unpleasant?
