mamamoonmim · 15/11/2011 15:06

I'm so happy no one will be touching my boobies anymore and they're all mine!!
Woop

I've been breastfeeding since february 2007.
My first boy for 2 1/2 years, then I had a few months to myself during pregnancy.
Then I breastfed my younger child for 19 months until last week.

And now it's over :D :D :D

MOSagain · 15/11/2011 15:10

YANBU I want mine back too, its been over 5 years (different babies before someone flames me for being a weirdo) Wink

naturalbaby · 15/11/2011 15:11

yanbu
i have been breastfeeding since may 2008, still got a few months to go though at least.

i look forward to the day when i can wear whatever i like and not have to choose boob access clothes.

HandMini · 15/11/2011 15:12

YANBU and you deserve a long service award. Buy a delicious bra to allow your boobs to luxuriate in style. Congratulations! Thanks

exaspomum · 15/11/2011 15:17

Know exactly what you mean. Your body is your own again. Well done on your BF. And to anyone who accuses you of bragging about your BF success - Yah Boo. Sour grapes.

TheCountessOlenska · 15/11/2011 15:19

jealous Envy

How did you get the 19 month old to stop??

TroublesomeEx · 15/11/2011 15:20

Haha well done you! Celebrate the return of the boobies.

I BF for 15 months and then 12 months. Stopped earlier than I would have liked ideally second time round, but no real choice in the matter.

So not as long as you but no longer feeling sticky and smelling of cottage cheese and stale saliva was wonderful!

Daisy1986 · 15/11/2011 15:25

YANBU well done you.

I love breastfeeding but sometimes I just wish I had a day when I wasn', when someone wasnt demanding something from me when Im ill/exhausted etc.

nordiccamper · 15/11/2011 15:26

Love it - well done you. Do you have before and after pictures, some times the celebration of the end can be a bit of a 'wake'. Grin

mamamoonmim · 15/11/2011 15:27

:D

I got him to stop by being quite mean I suppose and saying 'no' :(
Luckily he accepted a bottle of milk at night.

Mainly his daddy giving him bottle milk and allowing me to scamper away was how we managed to stop.

I did plan to do it until aged two.

But Hey I'm being selfish for once.
Hope he's okay.

Hooray for having my own boobies back -_-

YANBU - am counting down the days myself! Congratulations on getting so far.

Feminine · 15/11/2011 16:29

I just stopped feeding my almost 3 year old dd...it went so much better than I had expected.

My first son was for a year
My second for 2 years...but I have a 4/5 year age gap ,so for a while my boobs returned to me!

It upset me at first , but now I am freeeeeee Grin

Well done OP

cheeseandmarmitesandwich · 15/11/2011 16:42

I am jealous- literally sat here with boob-obsessed 17 month old DD2's hand down my top. Not only are they her favourite source of food/comfort they are now also her playthings. I give up!

cheeseandmarmitesandwich · 15/11/2011 16:42

I am jealous- literally sat here with boob-obsessed 17 month old DD2's hand down my top. Not only are they her favourite source of food/comfort they are now also her playthings. I give up!

MollyTheMole · 15/11/2011 16:47

Am genuinely interested here (and am bfing myself so not looking for any bf / ff / extended bf bun fight) but all those saying you are jealous......why dont you just stop?

Feminine · 15/11/2011 16:49

cheese my younger 2 werejust like your DD.

If you want to stop, could you try?

For DS 2 I told him he could keep his hands warm in my top , he did that for a bit Wink and got he got bored.

And with my DD I just couldn't take anymore so and told her she could have a pretty fairy cup instead.

It actually worked Shock

Good luck.

Feminine · 15/11/2011 16:52

molly for me ...when I weaned my first at 1 it was no big deal...I did everything by the book.

With my second two (as they stopped later) and they could actually tell me how nice it was/how it tasted like honey blah blah ...it made me feel a bit guilty.

I wanted to do it for the length I did, but I would have felt bad whenever I stopped.

MollyTheMole · 15/11/2011 17:09

ahh right, didnt think of the impact it must have when the kids can actually tell you how nice it is.

Im only at 6 weeks bfing so far, am just taking each day at a time but I already want my boobs back only a bit though

Feminine · 15/11/2011 18:19

molly right ...Grin

cheeseandmarmitesandwich · 15/11/2011 18:20

Molly and feminine- I don't stop because DD2 won't take a bottle or milk from a cup and she loves BF so much, it's the first thing she asks for when she wakes up, she points and I say 'do you want some milk?' And she says 'yah!' With a big grin and starts jigging up and down. Same at bedtime. I know if I tried to stop now it would be a real struggle for her.

Plus I don't really mind it, I am sure I will shed a tear when she finally does stop! But I am just looking forward to having my body back and really don't want to end up BF a 5 year old! (No disrespect to people who do...)

I am just hoping she will decide one day she's had enough...

Nagoo · 15/11/2011 18:27

molly the first 6 weeks are the worst. It settles down and gets much easier :)

I am a bit :) :( Confused about BF ATM, so it's nice to read about someone who's emotions are purely :) for giving up. DD is only 11MO but appears to be self-weaning, only wanting BF in the night, when I don't want to give it. Dear lord let me sleep!

Sorry for the hijack.

Yanbu :)

wem · 15/11/2011 18:43

Just yesterday I bought new nursing bras, having realised I wasn't going to stop with 13month old dd any time soon. I'd being hold out for some nice new normal bras.

I do want to stop but every day there's another reason why I think, I'll get tough tomorrow. She's bumped her head and needs comfort, she's woken up early and I want some quiet time on the sofa, she won't go down for a nap so I let her feed to sleep and doze on my lap for a while. So I guess I don't really want to stop, or at least the convenience of it still outweighs that desire.

But I am Envy. Congrats!

NinkyNonker · 15/11/2011 19:48

I'm just stopping feeding my 16 mo old dd. Tbh I feel pretty crappy about it. Sad Like it is the end of her babyhood or something. I wanted to keep going till 2, but am pregnant and it was excruciating...she only fed once, sometimes twice a day and even then would happily have missed it if there was something more exciting around. She hasn't been bothered though, so I don't feel too bad I guess. Still a bit emotional though.

TheMitfordsMaid · 15/11/2011 19:50

I can completely relate to this. I've been breastfeeding continuously since October 2006 and I think I well overdue a rest. My younger son is beginning to self-wean, I think, and I am starting to feel a little sad. It will certainly be the end of an era and I shall definitely miss it.

TheMitfordsMaid · 15/11/2011 19:51

Just read the messages about your DCs saying that it tastes nice. I asked DS2 and he gave me a look and said "milk, silly"
