to ask what you're ironing?

FOlding laundry last night I thought: I don't iron and I don't think I look particularly rumpled. I sort of smoosh things flat as I fold them, and ... I don't think we look that bad (I may be kidding myself). DH irons himself some work shirts, I iron fitted shirts if I'm wearing them but I've more or less structured my wardrobe so I don't have to iron much.

But my DM seems to spend her LIFE ironing. She irons sheets, pillowcases, you name it. I didn't think I was being a slattern (gasp!) but now I wonder- what do you iron?

and AIBU to think Ironing is a terrible soul-destroying activity, and one should drink tea and MN instead? :)

Basically - our washing machine knows not of that new fangled 'low crease' setting. I never used to iron, ever, until we got this machine.

Now anything we're going to walk out the house in and be noticably judged on gets ironed. So tops trousers etc, including my toddler's clothes, which is silly, but hey.

Obviously, I don't bother with sheets, underwear, teatowels etc. Because I cannot be arsed.

I've got quite speedy at ironing now though, it only takes 20mins, once or twice a week, when I first started it took 2 hrs each time!

Nowt at the weekend - dh does it.

I don't iron duvet covers, undies, towels, etc, but I do iron everything else. I do the ironing daily during the week, it normally takes about 40 mins a day.

nothing.

DH irons his shirts if needed (he only needs to wear a shirt if visiting client offices, only a couple of times a month, if that).

i only own 2 "shirt" things, the fitted kind, so I iron them if I'll be wearing them. everything else is folded as it's put away, just as you said, OP.

(DCs uniforms are the non-iron kind too)

I don't think we look particularly rumpled either.
