If I have to hear one more time how having milk in my coffee makes me not a 'proper' coffee drinker I may strangle her Agghhh!!!!

Why oh why does she think this?
And how do I convince her she is wrong?

Please help me put a stop to this daft conversation forever!

bytheMoonlight As some one who worked in an Italian cafe we would say your friend ordered Acqua Sporca or dirty water as a true black coffee drinker would only have Caffe or in English an espresso.

I couldn't even date a man if he took coffee or tea with milk The smell the milk gives off is all wrong!

Having said that, my dh told me he never drank coffee or tea, fast forward a few dates and he was snorting pots of the stuff, white! I can't kiss him until he brushes his teeth.

Milk just ruins the lovely coffee flavour.

The appropriate response to such a friend is not strangulation, satisfying though that might be, but the time honoured phrase "You are, of course, entitled to your opinion". And then drink it how you damn' well like, whilst enjoying the knowledge that it's irritating the life out of her.

I have coffee the way I like it and ask for just that in the coffee bar, sometimes I get a look as if someone has just thrown up as people don't understand. I have a normal coffee,water,milk affair. And if I want a cappucco after 11 I will ask for one. I live in Italy btw. The locals are used to my strange ways

TanteRose Don't knock it 'till you've tried it! My brother brought me some back from Vietnam and it truly is the most amazing coffee! I was really quite when it was finished.

I used to have milky coffee, but I went for an interview once and someone made me a really milky coffee with sugar. I couldn't drink it and since that day I have hated the smell of milky coffee.

I get told countless time in the work kitchen that by putting milk in my Earl Grey i'm ruining it. It should be drunk blakc with lemon. I just say "yeah yeah" and put milk in it.

Why does it irk you so much, just ignore her? Can't have much else to bother you!
