I just dropped my brush down a public toilet. WIBU to take it home wrapped in paper towels, pop it in boiling water for an hour, then carry on using it? It's a bloody good brush!!!

Buy a new one. Everytime you brush your hair you'll think 'toilet brush'.

troisgarcons · 04/11/2011 18:50

stick it in the washing machine - works for me!

2BoysTooLoud · 04/11/2011 18:50

As long as it wasn't a toothbrush...Shock

stepawayfromtheecclesCakes · 04/11/2011 19:10

nope, washing machine, good as new if you can forget it, but presumably you put your hand in to retrieve it so if you can forgive your hand after a wash you can forgive your brush Grin

HeidiKat · 04/11/2011 19:11

Eww YABU, it's just a brush, chuck it away.

DontGoCurly · 04/11/2011 19:14

Euw! nooooooo!!!

Throw it out!

Tortoise · 04/11/2011 19:15

I'd chuck it in the dishwasher then carry on using it. You're only using it on hair, not putting it in your mouth!

DontGoCurly · 04/11/2011 19:17

No NO ......e-coli on the dishes!!! nooooooooooo

BarkisIsWillin · 04/11/2011 20:02

Tortoise - your suggestion made me boak even more than OP's (double boak emoticon)

flatbellyfella · 04/11/2011 20:16

Hope it didn't land in brown stuff!!!
Just wash n go. :-)

winnybella · 04/11/2011 20:17

In the dishwasher!

Throw it away.

hobnob · 04/11/2011 20:22

I once had a housemate who hung a long-handled brush up next to the loo. 'It's a loo brush,' thought I, not unreasonably in the circumstances, and used it as such for some weeks until I discovered . . .

. . . it was her back brush.

southeastastra · 04/11/2011 20:26

you boiled it for an hour, it will be fine.

lol at people putting brushes in the washing machine Grin

thunderboltsandlightning · 04/11/2011 20:31

Get another brush.

MrsCarriePooter · 04/11/2011 20:32

hahahahahahah Grin hobnob

SnapesMistress · 04/11/2011 21:20

hobnob she had enough back hair to warrant a brush? Shock

And I thought I was practically a yeti.

MrFawkesMan · 04/11/2011 21:25

OP - I am never going to be able to borrow a hairbrush from anyone for the rest of my life in case they turn out to be you...

MrBloomsNursery · 04/11/2011 21:27

Eew yuck. Why the hell were you using a public toilet? Confused

Tortoise · 04/11/2011 22:54

What's wrong with using the dishwasher? It gets hot enough to sterilise bottles etc so any germs would be killed off.

slavetofilofax · 04/11/2011 23:14

I think I would really really want to boil it and use it again, but it would be useless because I don't think I would be able to bring myself use it knowing where it had been.

flamingtoaster · 04/11/2011 23:17

I'm not sure if I could use it again even if I soaked it in bleach .... for several days ...
