I really want to rejoin slimming world tonight I have put on a riduclous amount of weight since dc2 (now one years old). Thing is I work nights and if I go the local one tonight I'd have to leave home at 1845 then go straight to work. Dh goes out 3-4 times a week on the nights I'm not working, but I have to give him credit we always bath kids together read them a story then he goes out after.

I have a feeling he is not going to be too happy (he won't say this but his manner will) about it but ive been putting this off and last time I went to sw I lost 4 stone!! So I really wanna give it a shot but I do feel a bit bad walking out at this time if the day.

Watcha think?

looking after yourself will benefit the whole family. by keeping the mum happy, the whole family will thrive. it's only one night a week after all and he already goes out tons!

HandMini xP and I have a book we exchange back and forth littered with dates and comments like "addicted to thomas the tank engine - record some episodes on this channel this time at your house?" / "gone from liking baths to hating them, quick dip and rinse, doesn't want to play" etc - because we live apart there's no helping hand to offer but we do suggest to one another things around discipline/distractions/likes/dislikes because DS changes every day and xP sees him twice a week.

But if I suggested how he does things (watching him dress DS is fricking torture - not because he hurts him but bejaysus it takes him ages - no finesse/no shortcuts - he is a physicist - you'd think he'd realise that you can make a sleeve shorter by reaching into it and pulling DS's arm through) should be done how I do things he would be pretty narked about that. Unless it's H&S or DS was in anyway distressed then I wouldn't interfere.

Homelybird, did you go in the end?

It's so important to take time for yourself and Slimming World is great, fab weightloss tips, recipe ideas, support, a coffee & a natter... all for only £4.95! A bargain if you ask me Grin

(have lost 4 stone myself!)

Homelybird · 02/11/2011 01:27

Thank you all so much for responses.

First off I did go to sw Grin. I weighed what I expected which is kind of good that I'm not heavier but bad that I'm this heavy!!!

Secondly I feel awful Blush dh got home, I said I'm going to slimming world tonight, he said 'oh ok then I think that's a good idea you did well last time.' Then I pointed out I wouldn't be there for bedtime and he was like that's fine, I offered to return the favor on his thursday pool night and he said no it's ok I like doing the bedtime routine with them as I don't get to see them all day! How awful do I feel!! Either that or.....which one of you lot tipped him off!! Seriously though I feel terrible I misjudge his reaction!

Let the weight loss journey begin...having said that there are a huge tin of roses sat on the front desk right now at work, so far I have not even looked at them!!

Thanks again everyone

Well done - am glad your DH was supportive. Good luck with losing weight

ChippingInAutumnLover · 02/11/2011 01:55

Well done :)

He sounds nice - even if a little unpredictable at times!!

I hope SW goes well for you.

HandMini · 02/11/2011 08:27

Brilliant. Don't give it another thought in that case amd concentrate on you. Best of luck with SW - you'll be feeling much fabber by Christmas...how exciting!

RalphGhoul · 02/11/2011 08:32

Hey, don't feel awful! He doesn't mind you going, he enjoys spending time with the children, you get a bit of time doing what you want to do; it's a win-win- situation!

Good luck with SW, hope all goes well.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 03/11/2011 16:45

Great news!!

Well done your DH!

Let the slimming journey begin! Onwards and downwards for Christmas!! :)

Ephiny · 03/11/2011 16:49

Oh that's a good outcome, no need to feel bad though, I expect you had good reason to assume what you did based on past experience!

Good luck with the slimming, stay well away from that tin of Roses :)
