sil is having a halloween party but since she has 1yr old twins and all my nieces are 3 and younger i was not going to take ds in case he gave them the vomiting bug.

he has not got sick since yesterday lunch time and is up since 6am full of beans eating and drinking fine so was going to take him to a play centre instead.

AIBU not wanting to risk close family but take him to public play centre instead? even though i am 99 percent sure he is better

Oh right thought your ds was 1 for some reason. Oh ok the weather where I am is ok. Just have a nice cosy day inside.

Why in the name of God would you protect your family from the bug but cheerfully spread it around other people's kids at a play centre? You are being unutterably selfish to even consider this. Stay home until you're germ free. Hmm

I am glad you have decided not to take him out.

When DD was about 3 weeks old, I took DS (aged 3) to his usual Music class. One of mums there was insisting on holding DD's hands, strking her face and leaning into the pram and her little boy was leaning over prodding DD. Would be not so bad, but I was Angry when walking behind her I overheard her saying to another mum how they had had that D and V bug all week and she still felt really poorly and had been sick that morning and her DS hadn't eaten his breakfast so she thought he might be getting it too! Shock Angry.

Good on you for keeping him at home OP. I know it's tempting to take them out, especially when they're full of beans but 48h since the last 'incident' will keep your conscience clear and give your DS a bit more time to recover.
