I would vote to keep British Summer Time purely because most of Europe does the summer time thing too, it's easier if time differences between countries don't change depending on the time of year.
A lot of Australia has daylight savings time too, but their clocks change at a different time. So Melbourne can be 9, 10 or 11 hours ahead depending on the date. Darwin even has a silly half hour difference just to make it even harder.
Ah, fond memories of 5 am calls from my Grandma (in Aus) on Sunday mornings, "I thought it was later" [hgrin]
