There's some really lovely people on this site. I found that out a few weeks ago when I really needed to rant.

But what is it with certain people on the AIBU thread that jump on somebody's question, just to point out that they have posted in the wrong place, or that their post is too long to read? Is that what these people say to their friends when they 'ramble on too long' about their latest problem?

AIBU to think that if it's 'too long', then you should just close the thread and click on another one instead... Or... if it's not in the correct subject thread for you, then don't bother opening it at all?

Why do people have to be so nasty?

As I said, I totally agree that people could suggest a different topic to post on to get more help.
It's just the manner in which some people do it, like they purposly open a thread just to ''tell someone off''.

I think sometimes, us readers, have to imagine the way people are telling us things on here. There is no way to know when we read it if someone says "you really should post on topic xyz rather than here" in a helpful kind and concerned tone or if they actully say it while thinking "the idiot should know better!"

Personnally, I have decided to keep a positive outlook on it and try to read most posts imagining that the OP is nice and friendly. There are obviously times where the wording shows they are all but nice and friendly but I think these are the exception rather than the rule. I am also quite sure that sometimes when I think I have been treated "badly" on here it is because my mood on that day makes me see things darker than they usually are.
