to wonder why I know nothing about a trip to Paris which my child is supposed to be going on next week?

Just opened an email from school
Shock
apparently my child is going on an art trip to Paris next week.
Shock
I know nothing about this
Hmm
I have paid no money (I think - although I tend not to know about money)
Confused
Nobody has mentioned it to me (I think - I might not have been listening)
Hmm

So. Do we think she is going? Do we think this is one of the many things that someone forgot to tell me? Do we think I am expected to stump up £4000 or whatever 3 days in Paris is going to cost (according to school)?

It is a mystery.

If she's neglected to tel you and has to miss out it will be a shame but a lesson...if the SCHOOL have neglected to tell you, you can insist she goes! Let us know!

grovel · 11/10/2011 16:41

It'll be lovely having a son-in-law called Serge and bilingual grandchildren. Stop worrying.

Salmotrutta · 11/10/2011 16:42

Very odd - usually there are millions several reminders about installments etc. for this type of trip. And lots of meetings for pupils and letters to parents/and or meeting with them too.

ZombiesAtYourCervix · 11/10/2011 16:42

she'll be back soon - by 5-ish. i will let you know.

Maybe he'll be a brilliant chef who wants nothing more than to serve his MIL 3 meals a day and do all the washing up

"It'll be lovely having a son-in-law called Serge and bilingual grandchildren. Stop worrying."

ROFL. My mother thought it was just lovely for her daughters to learn languages. Fast forward 30 years and she has two French sons-in-laws and four bilingual grandchildren all living many kms away from her...

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/10/2011 16:54

Zombies - if she was going to Paris next week, you would have had to send in her passport details by now, I suspect. Have you filled in anything with her passport details on/sent her passport into school? Could she have access to it?

If the answers to the above are all no, then it's unlikely she's going, unless she's been offered a last-minute place because someone has dropped out.

SauvignonBlanche · 11/10/2011 16:55

Try the ports/airports/ferry terminals?
