E.g liz 'proud mummy' smith etc. It just looks pathetic. And don't even get me started on people who give their newborn babies Facebook pages. Or is that just me that gets wound up by this?

OP posts:
FutTheShuckUp · 08/04/2014 15:45

Also those who put their educational status in their name! Donna Bsc Daniels
Lucy ba hons Andrews

mummymeister · 08/04/2014 17:09

Bet I have really wound you up by posting here then Tiaras Smile I am wound up by impossibly long mumsnet names that I have to read about 20 times in order to spell accurately because I am rubbish at copy and paste functions.

FelixFelix · 08/04/2014 17:10

I saw someone with 'AmazonAddict' as their middle name the other day Blush

Lilybensmum1 · 08/04/2014 17:24

Oh dear guess my names not popular!! Each to their own I say, either delete or ignore if it winds you up that much, I didn't know what name to use when I started MN so used my kids, I do have my own identity though.

deakymom · 08/04/2014 22:33

lovesberbabies muumyoftwo mentalmum singlenproud shagginandlovinit really are middle names i look at and think ????????

YADNBU sometimes i wonder if im off another planet

candycoatedwaterdrops · 08/04/2014 22:46

I am going to change mine to:

Sarah '3 A Levels' Robins*

*not my real name

mrsleomcgary · 08/04/2014 23:01

I had to delete someone because of this, name was 'first name proudmummytosecond name'. When she got pregnant you would have thought she was the first woman ever to reproduce, every post was the latest kick/morning sickness/complaint about the midwife. Thought it might calm down when baby was born, couldn't have been new wrong! Final straw came when she called her bany a genius because it had started teething. She also had a habit of calling her other half her little sugar puff - the man was the size of a house!

Worst though is changing your profile pic to your baby. Pic of you and your baby is fine but its like some people think they can't be their own person once they have kids.

kiwimumof2boys · 08/04/2014 23:42

Ugh I hate under FB 'employment: - 'Mummy at full time Mummy' etc etc. I have a friend who just says works at 'stay at home mum.' Which is a lot better - and you don't come across as a total idiot.
Sorry if I offend anyone but I HATE it when anyone refers to themselves as 'Mummy' unless the person they are talking to is their own very young child. Or if they're super posh or a member of the royal family.
The other thing on FB is: Education - University of Life, School of Hard Knocks etc etc. No. Just don't.

zeezeek · 09/04/2014 20:56

Also annoying is job as "wife and mummy"
Agree with University of Life and any name with mummy in the middle.

However, one day those poor kids are going to grow up into stroppy teenagers and will be very pissed off with their parents for post pictures of their poo on FB.

Slightly off topic, but another thing that pisses me off are the total knobs who insist on putting all their educational qualifications in their e-mail address: especially when a) the qualifications are just diplomas or something that are meaningless to anyone outside a small, narrow field b) the list is longer than their name and c) the Dr or Prof in front of their name kind of guarantees that 20-odd years ago they got a BSc!!

presumably at the University of Mummy/University of Life/Hard Knocks

zeezeek · 09/04/2014 20:57

Ooops I mean e-mail signature, not e-mail address. Sorry

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 09/04/2014 21:02

I hate the 'full time mummy' job status on fb. What you mean is a sahm. We're all full time mums. Just because I go to work doesn't mean I'm not still DS's mum.

elahrairahforprimeminister · 09/04/2014 21:13

Or more likely a 'hide and occasionally look at her wall to see what inanity she has written lately to boggle and make myself feel superior'

Oh, that fuck!

I thought it was just me who did that.

Wink
VampyreofTimeandMemory · 09/04/2014 21:17

there are worse things.

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 09/04/2014 21:20

i never personally did this before i got rid of my facebook account because it's a crock of shite but I just do not get offended by people who want everyone to know how happy they are about their children. okay, it can be OTT but really, who cares...

FloozeyLoozey · 09/04/2014 21:22

I would have to delete someone who did that.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 09/04/2014 21:29

Is it just me, or is that "stfu parents" blog extremely badly written? Confused

BlackholesAndRevelations · 09/04/2014 21:31

I had to smile at my cousin's wife's occupation: "full time lazy"! She is a mum but didn't write all that "full time mummy and lovin life" bollocks. At least she's honest! Hmm

themadcaplass · 09/04/2014 23:14

YANBU. And you can "unfollow" your friend without deleting her, so her posts won't appear on your page!

IsChippyMintonExDirectory · 10/04/2014 00:26

I always find that the gushing couples are the ones who sooner or later split up.
Monday: "Laura loves Bobby so so much to the moon and back my gorgeous fiancé can't wait for our meal tonight xxxxxxx"
Wednesday: Laura is now single Hmm

Worse than "full time mummy" as occupation (WTF, all mums are full time mums, say SAHM you loon" is "Sophie Rebecca's mummy". Any grown woman who refers to herself, or other grown women, as "mummy" needs a good shake

kiwimumof2boys · 10/04/2014 00:34

We're all full time mums. Just because I go to work doesn't mean I'm not still DS's mum.

^ Absolutely.
Also - occupations I've seen 'Slave to john and Jane' (their children).Ugh. Worst one "health and safety officer to John and Jane Smith" Took me a while to figure out as I thought the mum actually worked as a health and safety officer, but penny dropped when I saw the surname and remembered her DC's names.

Cariad007 · 10/04/2014 06:36

The worst one I saw was a friend of a FB friend who was something along the lines of Sammlylouise Johnandcharlenesmammy Smith. It was a public profile where she had a notice to all "pedos" saying that she'd never put pics of her kids on her profile so they could fuck off. Yet she'd created a FB fan page for each kid..,

FelixFelix · 10/04/2014 08:10

Blackholes my sister used to have 'works on my arse at sofa' as her occupation. She wasn't lying either Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/04/2014 08:14

"University of life"

DownstairsMixUp · 10/04/2014 08:21

I thought if I ever started a thread saying I disiked this I'd be shot down in flames, glad I am not the only one. I actually don't have any friends who put "mummy" in their name but once got into a full hissy row about drinking ages with a woman called something like tay's prouf mummy smith or whatever about the drinking age in this country. Hmm Then I started to notice SOO many people put "mummy" or "mummy24" as their middle name! WHY?! I'll be a stay at home mum for a while from September but I am not just a mother! I generally hate any made up middle names tho. I actually used to have an old school friend on there who was a gym bunny...

His name actually had "smashedit" as the middle name in it. Hmm

Tinkerball · 10/04/2014 08:22

This thread is 3 years old!!! I was reading it and saw one of my old usernames and thought "oh someone has my name", and then realised it was me!
