I had a good day - published a new ebook about Special Educational Needs, Getting Started on Statementing. Spent the whole day on promotion, eyes now bleeding. Just having a glass of wine before I sign off and veg in front of a recording of Downton. And my new business cards arrived. Nice and purpley.
If anyone's interested, you can see it at amzn.to/qCszkD (the ebook, not the business cards) My two boys are the left & second right. I had to pay them a tenner each for the privilege...

PandorasSocks · 10/10/2011 19:53

Husband took me out for lunch today and talked about a project that I'm working on, rather than talked the whole time about his work.

He even seemed interested Smile

GeneralCustard I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

leelo · 10/10/2011 20:00

i took dd to school, took ds to get free lego in newspaper. took him to nursery and he never cried. i then came home done a few chores and sat and watched crap tv. it was good. then felt recharged and picked up kids in pouring rain and was hugged and kissed lots. today was a good day. which is nice as last week i had a crying kid starting nursery and a kid having an operation. so feeling more positive.

purplehonesty · 10/10/2011 20:01

My plumber, joiner, bricklayer and electrician all turned up on site today and did loads of work (yipee). And I had sponge cake for breakfast
It was a good day.

Tyr · 10/10/2011 20:05

I received no bills in the post today. Does that count?

GeneralCustardsHardHat · 10/10/2011 20:05

I got asked, not told, asked!, whether I would like to move from my shitty desk to a desk next to a window Grin

MrsWembley · 10/10/2011 20:07

These are making me smile too.Smile What an excellent thread at the end of a looooong and rainy Monday. Thank-you Custard.Smile

AuntiePickleBottom · 10/10/2011 20:10

EyeoftheStorm · 10/10/2011 20:13

DS2 born at 30 weeks, has hydrocephalus and needed a shunt put in his brain when he was 5 months. He is 2.3 now and has just started putting two words together.

Today he was eating cheerios when he suddenly looked out of the window and said: Daddy work, aw Daddy, cuddle Daddy.

DH couldn't wait to give him that cuddle!

minsmum · 10/10/2011 20:15

DH had his op today and is home and ok apart from the pain of course

duvetdayplease · 10/10/2011 20:17

Sorry to hear you're having a shit time. I got a tax rebate today, an actual cheque from the revenue, out of the blue. Given our financial chaos this is very good news (even though it was little).

Also, my mum came over for tea and I got through the whole evening without a row. This counts as a miracle in my family!

Hope things improve for everyone having a shot time and congrats to others on their good news x

Aislingorla · 10/10/2011 20:19

Wow! Eyeof,,how lovely for you.

My son Skyped me from Uni today of his own accord! And we had a really grown up conversation. Made my day!

Mermaidspam · 10/10/2011 20:21

I have managed to get 2 kittens for my friend, who has been a bit down after her cat's latest litter were stillborn.
She's chuffed!

Haribojoe · 10/10/2011 20:26

I spent 40 minutes just lying next to DS3 (13 months) watching him sleep tonight and thinking about all three of my gorgeous boys and how beautiful they are (I am not at all biased Smile) and got excited to think that in 5 months time they'll be another little Haribo joining us Grin.

To everyone who had a day that was anything short of decent have some chocolate and/or a glass of wine and fingers crossed things will pick up tomorrow.

NorfolkBroad · 10/10/2011 20:27

Well my DP bumped another parked car and took some paint off it. The owner was not around so she left an apologetic note with contact details. Later the owner called her back saying she was astounded that DP had bothered to leave a note and that she was really touched! She then said that her car has so many dings that she was not at all bothered so didn't want to take any action at all. Nice lady!

MrsWembley · 10/10/2011 20:27

Eye, you just made me cry.Smile. My DD has started going up to DP, saying 'my daddy' and giving him a big hug, kind of Railway Children-ish, so I can understand how happy your DH is.Smile

NorfolkBroad · 10/10/2011 20:29

God, sorry, that is nothing compared to eye! Feel stupid for mentioning it! How lovely for you and your DH eye!

Hey, Norfolk, I count it a great day when strangers are nice to each other. Makes a change.

I actually said to DS2: what do you mean, cuddle daddy, what about mummy? Blush

saffron · 10/10/2011 20:39

First off some knob scraped my car and then left a note with his phone number on - the phone number was wrong.
I went to have my eyebrows, neck, chin, lip and side face threaded. I had never tried threading before - I ran out after having my eyebrows done - that was true pain.
My lovely friend gave my boy some wrestling figurines - my boy is over the moon.
But, I am getting married tomorrow, I will have lovely eyebrows and a bushy face Wink

MonaPomona · 10/10/2011 20:44

My ds2 (5 weeks) smiled at me properly today for the first time

fatlazymummy · 10/10/2011 20:49

I have lost another 2 pounds [weight that is]. Best of all, according to nintendo wi fit, I am 30 years old, not 51.Grin
