Scenario: group of 40-something friends during girls night in. One, who has a new man in her life, admits he is a TV STARRRRRRRRR (actually he has a small, but regular, part in a popular TV drama, but none of us get out much and so are very impressed).

Conversation quickly turns to ?stars we have snogged? and having drunk over a bottle of wine in the spirit of friendship I ?fessed up that many many years ago (1984 to be exact) I snogged the face off Fish from Marillion. {bestillmybeatingheart} smilie.

Deathly hush ? and to a woman the next comment was? ?WHO?? followed by gales of laughter.

AIBU to think I should deserve some respect for my youthful slapperish indiscretions (they were No 5 in the Charts I?ll have you know!)

I know someone who turned down Kiefer Sutherland... It was pre- Jack Bauer though (when he was a bit porky). Still Envy though!

How could anyone turn down Kiefer? Unless he was being drunk and obnoxious, but even then...?

(valiumredhead no I didn't twiddle his ponytail, oh the shame, I was 17/18 and he must have been what 45? So. Not. Cool.)

Okay, if he chose that particular moment to ask me I might turn him down (note the might...I know).

But only because he appears to be sitting beside Toadfish from neighbours and I can't work out how that happened. Are Kiefer and Toadfish BFF? How did they meet?

Oh no, it wasn't him!!! He had ginger hair and it was at least 20 years ago on Newport beach in west wales and as I was only about 10 he seemed ancient!!

ooh ooh. my turn - I never get to remember this anymore as whenever he comes on the tv dh goes all quiet and turns it over. I snogged Bob Mortimer but it was just before he got famous at least 20 years ago. And we were trying to exchange numbers but one of the people I'd gone to the student ball with decided to scratch slit her wrists in the loos and we couldn't find a pen so that was it, we just waved goodbye to each other from the back of 2 taxis going in opposite directions.

(not wishing to sound harsh but the friend who 'slit' her wrists - i think because the boy she liked was dancing with another friend - it turned into a regular weekly thing where she'd scratch it to make a smidge of blood come out, not even self harming as there weren't ever any scars, just plain old attention seeking for pretty minor things - it would have all been quite comical if it wasn't for the fact that for most people slitting their wrist or self harming is such a serious thing - but for her it wasn't which is why my comment above probably sounds more flippant than it should)

Have got good track record in turning now-very-successful people down or not getting together when asked for whatever reason - including someone who is now a tv and film director, an actor, another (almost) comedian etc... I have got a lovely dh but he seems to get ignored by his bosses and every 10 years or so he gets bored with his career so goes off at a serious tangent and gets a new job but starts at the bottom again, so pay goes down and then the promised pay rises don't come because of pay freezes and yet again he's now looking at going off and starting something new Sad. hey ho.

Also have a friend who was invited into pierce brosnan's hotel room but didn't go...

Back to talking about Fish.
I am going to see him (again!) in November.

These days he has short grey hair a beard and sometimes wears glasses.

However when he is angry or had his heart broken (whis is an ongoing pattern in his life) boy are his lyrics good!!!!

I have looked at that Kiefer photo far too often about five times now and still can't work out if he's sitting next to Toadfish from Neighbours. I've read the article and it doesn't say.

Who is that man!? It's driving me mad.
