Some of the language used by some people on here was really appauling.

Hang your heads in shame!

I haven't previously commented at all - but if I had I wouldn't be apologising now.

She was freed on a technicality - this does not mean she's innocent.

Flowerista · 03/10/2011 21:32

Sorry Margery

NinkyNonker · 03/10/2011 21:33

It'll go to another appeal, it ain't over yet I suspect.

Flowerista · 03/10/2011 21:34

And whats really appalling is the impact to Meredith Kerchers family.

ArtVandelay · 03/10/2011 21:34

Maybe she did, maybe she didn't.. Its just a bit predictable (and shit) that the only person that didn't manage to get a fancy appeal and media coverage and his freedom and all that is the person with no money and no posh family to bail him out.

AgentZigzag · 03/10/2011 21:35

'Maybe some of you would like to spend 4 years in jail for a crime you didn't commit?'

What a ridiculous thing to say.

noddyholder · 03/10/2011 21:35

Who do you want them to apologise to?Hmm.

reelingintheyears · 03/10/2011 21:36

troisgarcon

It wasn't them.

Whoever did the bombings were murderous scum but it was not them.

TakeThisOneHereForAStart · 03/10/2011 21:37

I was worried because I think the only innocent person in all of this is Meredith and because I genuinely believed that Knox and her boyfriend were guilty.

peacypops · 03/10/2011 21:37

What I still can't understand is why she changed her story so many times. If she was completely innocent then surely she would have just told the truth about where she was from the start. My thoughts are with the Kercher family tonight who have remained so dignified throughout the process - they will sadly probably never know the truth about what happened.

YouDoTheMath · 03/10/2011 21:38

That's just it reeling, we'll never know.

So why do people judge either way? It's just a guessing game as far as most are concerned.

Flowerista · 03/10/2011 21:38

What I would like to see though is this girl take the chance to disappear into obscurity to quietly enjoy the freedom her appeal has won her. However I strongly suspect that she will not do anything so humble.

I hope so too flowerista.
Whether she's innocent or guilty (and I really don't think anyone on this thread will ever know), the thought she might make a profit from this depresses me.
She needs to go away now and try to get on with her life as quietly as possible.

ArtVandelay · 03/10/2011 21:44

The whole thing was just so incredibly wierd. Just so awful for Meredith to end up in that kind of situation. Barmy flatmates bringing drug-dealers to your home, the sex stuff etc. If I were the Kercher's I'd just be thinking "if only we'd kept her here" and things like that, so awful, and they'll never know what really happened. I hope they can cope with this outcome.

reelingintheyears · 03/10/2011 21:45

He had expressed a similar controversial opinion regarding the Birmingham Six in 1988, saying: ?Hanging ought to be retained for murder most foul. We shouldn?t have all these campaigns to get the Birmingham Six released if they?d been hanged. They?d have been forgotten, and the whole community would be satisfied? It is better that some innocent men remain in jail than that the integrity of the English judicial system be impugned.

This was Lord Denning.

bubbleschimp · 03/10/2011 21:45

i've reported your last post troisgarcons

Do the world a favour and buy yourself a calendar and a newspaper. The Birmingham six and the guildford four were convicted on the basis of fake evidence and racism.

How uneducated are you?

margerykemp · 03/10/2011 21:46

It wasn't a technicality!

There was no hard evidence against either of them only Guede.

It was a witch hunt.

She has been found not guilty. However, I suspect she'll make a great deal of money from the whole thing.

MK's family will have to sit back and watch while their daughter's murder is played out through the inevitable book and Hollywood film deals. Excruciating for them and something which shouldn't be allowed imo.

Good old British justice.

reelingintheyears · 03/10/2011 21:48

No,don't report her...let her show herself for what she is.

GypsyMoth · 03/10/2011 21:49

And raffaele??? That of him? Why is all focus on Amanda?

reelingintheyears · 03/10/2011 21:50

chunkythighs

She is an uneducated, ill informed fool.

Ignore her.

slavetofilofax · 03/10/2011 21:50

If she is innocent, why shouldn't she make money out of her story and the hell she has been through?

I have no real opinion either way on her guilt or her innocence, but I know that if I'd lost four years of my life because I'd been accused of something I hadn't done, I'd want to make money! It must have cost her family a fortune, and it's not like she will just be able to pick up life where she left off, this will affect her, and her earning potential for years.

If she is innocent, she is a victim too.
