To not like this weather

AuntiePickleBottom · 02/10/2011 15:55

I am hating this heat and sick of people saying I shouldn't be moaning about the weather.

Looking at Xmas things when it's 25 degrees outside just don't seem right.
Hope the forecast of snow latter this month turns out true

Plus like tethers I have been purchasing my winter wardrobe-3 lovely new pairs of boots that I cant bloody wearAngry

HeidiKat · 02/10/2011 18:00

Perhaps they should all move North and we would all be happy with the weather.

I already live in Scotland so that puts paid to that argument Grin.

I dislike hot weather that I actually have to get on with stuff in, it's fine for holidays where you are lazing by the pool all day but not when you have stuff to do with a hot and grumpy 9 month old in tow, my next car will definitely have air conditioning that is for sure.

scottishmummy · 02/10/2011 18:03

why on earth are you looking at xmas stuff? in oct?

GwendolineMaryLacey · 02/10/2011 18:05

please posters remember not all mnetters live in london Hmm

What's that got to do with anything? It's quite clear in the OP that she's referring to the hot weather that some parts of the country (not just London) are having. If you haven't got hot weather, then the thread isn't relevant to you, surely? I wouldn't go on a thread where the Scots were moaning about rain and say please remember we don't all live in Scotland. How odd.

WoTmania · 02/10/2011 18:05

YANBU - I'm fed up with hot. roll on snow and thick socks and big boots

harrietlichman · 02/10/2011 18:05

I love sunny weather - in summer. Not now. Now is the time for wrapping up warm, cooking stews and fruit crumbles. I do not want bbq in autumn, I want hot chocolate with my log burner on, so YANBU at all, roll on the frosts!

usualsuspect · 02/10/2011 18:08

I don't live in London .and we have had gorgeous weather here for the last few days

it's been hot for around 5 days.....not weeks...(sadly) ...Not sure how people can be so 'fed up' already.... talk about the glass is half empty!!! weekends are great whatever the weather,,,even better when basking in the sun enjoying a nice glass of wine.... cycling, riding etc perfect.

dozyrosie · 02/10/2011 19:10

I'm 23 weeks PG and grouchy would be a serious understatement. Hot sticky heat giving me prickly heat rash in some very nasty places, restless legs, sore hips, and the need to pee at-least 4 times in the night. And inexplicably waking at 3:30 till 4:30 every single night for no reason. Bring on freezing cold nights. Oh well at least it's good practice for when DD is here.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 02/10/2011 19:17

Er....because we're not all you. Lots of people, including me, hate hot weather. FFS, I'm getting cross now, what a stupid statement to come out with.

ouryve · 02/10/2011 19:18

Tramping through crunch autumn leaves while wearing shorts is quite surreal.

And I've not enjoyed the heat one bit. It's the sort of sticky , heavy heat that gives me rashes. (Though it's just been wet and sticky, today)

usualsuspect · 02/10/2011 19:20

Lots of people love it though

pocketfullofposies · 02/10/2011 19:23

I hate it too!

Funny how many people on this thread seem to think that if you don't like hot weather you love winter. There's another season between summer and winter people - it's called Autumn! My favourite season and I want it now please!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 02/10/2011 19:25

Of course they do and good for them. But being made to feel like a misery because I hate it pisses me right off. And more so because we don't all live in some fucking TV drama world of horse riding and wine on the terrace.

usualsuspect · 02/10/2011 19:27

I live on a council estate Grin

We had a bbq and lager in the back yard

pocketfullofposies · 02/10/2011 19:28
GwendolineMaryLacey · 02/10/2011 19:28

Blush Sorry, got a bit heated there, which, believe me, I do not need! :o

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 02/10/2011 19:29

The only thing that is OK about it is the immense speed in which the laundry is drying. On the downside that is also making me feel guilty that I'm not washing heavy things like the sofa covers, but because of the heat I just cba. So thah. I don't care if they're then grubby all through winter. Soon it will be dark most of the day and noone will be able to tell! mwah hah hah.

And I miss Autumn.

Twattingcuntybollocks · 02/10/2011 19:30

YANBU, this weather is crap and should do one.

I hate it with a passion, give me some real weather. I cannot wait until winter, cold, rainy and hopefully snowy Grin

(Oh and I never complain about the colder weather either)

usualsuspect · 02/10/2011 19:33

I will do my moaning about the dark depressing winter days {grin]

GwendolineMaryLacey · 02/10/2011 19:36

I was too bloody hot to load the washing machine so the thought of the drying that I wasn't doing made me feel worse!

Hulababy · 02/10/2011 19:37

It's been lovely weather. Not too hot, and definitely not too cold. 27 degrees or so last few days, a tad cooler today. Lovely! Had the roof down on my car and enjoyed it - will be a while before I can do that again I bet!

I really found cold, wet weather of our autumns and winters so drab and a bit depressing. It's fine if it is a bright crisp day but so often it is just grey and wet.

Really hoping we don't get anywhere near as much snow this year though. Hate it went everything comes to a standstill. I like to be able to get out and about.

Hulababy · 02/10/2011 19:39

And yes sadly today, in Sheffield, it started to rain a little this afternoon - spoilt our walk too! And looks like this warm spell is stopping on Tuesday - back down to 12/13 degrees, and rain on Wednesday :(

xStarGirl · 02/10/2011 19:42

Do find it odd that there are people who can't accept that people have different likes/dislikes about weather. Gasp. Hmm

YANBU, OP. I detest hot, sunny weather. It gives me rashes, headaches and generalised feeling-like-crapness. Even with all my windows open and curtains shut to keep the blinding light out, it's been awful all weekend.
My next-door-neighbour has adored this weather. And takes great pleasure in making snarky comments like "oh, you should bring that boy of yours outside more often" while I'm putting the washing out. Like I'm some sort of freak for not wanting to be outside. Get a grip!
