To not like this weather

I am hating this heat and sick of people saying I shouldn't be moaning about the weather.

Looking at Xmas things when it's 25 degrees outside just don't seem right.
Hope the forecast of snow latter this month turns out true

Oh thank god it isnt just me. I love cold, dreary days. I love autumn and winter and dark nights and frosty mornings and I bloody hate hot, sticky weather like this. YADNBU.

Bunbaker · 02/10/2011 16:25

I've done loads this weekend. Smile The garden is now ready for winter. I have removed all the dead bedding plants, mown and trimmed the lawn, cut back all the ivy, removed the weeds from between the cracks in the paving stones. OH has painted the garage door. We wouldn't have been able to do any of those things if it had been wet.

I would have thought that sitting in a stuffy house would make you feel miserable. There is a breeze outside, why don't you sit in the shade with your feet in a bowl of cold water?

frownieface · 02/10/2011 16:26

YANBU I hate this weather, it's too hot, too sticky, my dogs are too hot and their paddling pool has broken, BRING ON THE SNOW Grin

neuroticmumof3 · 02/10/2011 16:26

I'm fed up with the nice weather cos I want to wear my new Rocket Dog boots.

ScarahStratton · 02/10/2011 16:29

It's lovely. I bloody hate Winter. I hope it stays like this until Spring. Then it can warm up a little bit more. Grin

vividgingerchilli · 02/10/2011 16:31

That's the retailers that are doing stuff too early not the weather!

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 02/10/2011 16:34

We need a sun haters thread Wink

I hate it too and spent so long circling our new and lovely air conditioned tesco metro yesterday dp came to look for me Blush

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 02/10/2011 16:34

I'm 6 months' pregnant - bad enough I'm dreading snow when I'm due, but I thought at least I won't have to deal with heat waves when heavily pregnant.
WRONG.
I'm sitting on the sofa in a vest top and pants with a fan, an ice pack, all the curtains shut and the windows open and I'm very grouchy. Bring on the effing snow say I! I'll make DH drag me to the maternity unit on a sledge!

Ifancyashandy · 02/10/2011 16:36

It's GLORIOUS! I adore this weather and am currently sat on my balcony in shorts and a bikini top. There's not a cloud in the sky, I've got a bottle of fizzy water and my sunnies. What's not to love!

bunnyspoiler · 02/10/2011 16:40

I like sun but not heat. Cold and frosty and bright, I like. Roll on autumn and winter. How anyone can enjoy this sweaty- can't even breathe- humid nastiness is beyond me. London tomorrow will be awful. I will be glad when all the sweaty red bodies are covered up in winter clothes too

mumeeee · 02/10/2011 16:43

YABU we don't get a lot of summer weather. DH and I have enjoyed sitting our in the garden to eat our meals and even DD3 (19) is enjoying the weather. So just enjoy it while it lasts and don't look at Christmas stuff yet. It's much to early to be buying presents.

usualsuspect · 02/10/2011 16:46

Its great to have all the windows open ,much better than sitting inside all cooped up with the heating on

HeidiKat · 02/10/2011 16:51

YANBU, I would take a frosty, crisp autumn or winter day over sweltering heat anytime. It just feels wrong to be walking through the fallen autumn leaves on the pavement in summer weather.

Bunbaker · 02/10/2011 16:54

But we get so few sunny, crisp autumn/winter days where we live. It is generally damp and gloomy. In fact it has just started raining here. (South Yorkshire)

Gingefringe · 02/10/2011 16:54

I'm enjoying the hot spell but I also want to wear my new autumn clothes.

minibmw2010 · 02/10/2011 16:58

It's beautiful weather (if freaky on 1 October) but I burn easily (even with SPF50) and also have a DS (19 weeks) that is finding the heat hard too.

BatsUpMeNightie · 02/10/2011 16:59

Nope - I'm not loving it either! Too damned hot, no breeze and after dark you can't have the bloody windows open due to a plague of hideous pointless buzzy Daddy Long Legs things. Can't sleep at night either. Give me cold, crisp and clear and a lush duvet to snuggle under any day of the week.

amiabusive · 02/10/2011 17:02

yanbu. the heat is horrific. it is making me feel ill.
i do think it's funny how people get so cross with each other about differing weather preferences, as if the winter lobby actually have an influence which will inconvenience the sun lobby.

minxofmancunia · 02/10/2011 17:12

YANBU, I find it freaky. I like this weather....in summer. The main reason I dislike it is because I find summer dressing a nightmare and was soooo relieved to be back in my winter workwear...woollen dresses, funky tights and elegant boots. Then to have to swap back again, nightmare.

Almostfifty · 02/10/2011 17:44

You are all being totally and absolutely unreasonable.

It's been raining almost solidly for the past two days, and we have had one day of sun and warmth in the time you lot have had all this lovely sunshine.

I'm moving south as soon as my children finish school.

Bunbaker · 02/10/2011 17:45

Perhaps they should all move North and we would all be happy with the weather.

diddl · 02/10/2011 17:51

It is a bit on the hot side for me, but I´d rather this than snow tbh.

Takes ages to get out of the door in Winter-coat, hat, gloves etc!

dizzyblonde · 02/10/2011 17:51

I love this weather but in summer not autumn. I've just bought some fleecy PJ's and I want to wear them now

Blueberties · 02/10/2011 17:54

tis nice but too hot, Britain's weather is weather in which stuff can be done, which is not this for sure

pink4ever · 02/10/2011 17:56

YANBU but please posters remember not all mnetters live in londonHmm. In scotland we had 2 days of sun and warmth and since then it has mainly pissed down but still been really, really muggy.

Hate summer anyway-think I have that sad thing in reverse-give me winter any day. Cold, crisp mornings, conkers and apple cheeked kids-whats not to like?
