6.30 this morning I stripped all the beds and put the first load in the washer hoping to make the most of the fantastic drying weather. Then I went to work a 14 hour shift. I have just stopped for my tea break and phoned DH at home (he finished work at 4.30) he told me he has put all the washing in the dryer cos he couldn't be arsed to hang it out! I told him I wish he would leave it alone in that case. He said "whatever". I am so frustrated I am thinking I should leave the bastard. Or AIBU? I don't know what else to do! I have to go back to work now - will check replies when I get home tonight. Thanks for reading.

You don't know what else to do?! Er how about don't leave your husband just because he can't be bothered to hang out the washing

cjbartlett · 30/09/2011 19:56

Ooh reality! Did you have your baby?!

southeastastra · 30/09/2011 19:56

i would forget it only if he has made all the beds again

nickschick · 30/09/2011 19:56

if your dh finished work at 4.30 a lot of valuable drying time had already gone.

SwimLittleFish · 30/09/2011 19:57

I don't blame him. Men look really girly hanging out the washing.

redskyatnight · 30/09/2011 19:57

Wash overnight, hang out on line in morning. Leave until it is dry or someone can be bothered to bring it in. Whichever comes first.

Aw! Congratulations!!! How did I miss that?!?

valiumredhead · 30/09/2011 19:59

I don't blame him, hanging washing out is such a drag. I have a big drier and it's on most days.

Congratulations Reality :)

aldiwhore · 30/09/2011 20:00

I wouldn't leave him over it.

But I'd wear a smug eco friendly grin when my laundry smells better than his.

sneakybeak · 30/09/2011 20:01

Your DH didn't hand the washing out??? Shock

You should seek counseling. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Do you have any friends/relatives you can call?

helpmabob · 30/09/2011 20:01

congratulations reality, can you send us some of that baby smell Grin.

OP the real deal breaker is whether he fills the dishwasher or just crams smelly dishes into the sink while a perfectly good, empty dishwasher is right there waiting.

2BoysTooLoud · 30/09/2011 20:03

I'd be pissed off with him.
[Electric bill for one thing].
If your weather as hot as ours it would have dried in 30 mins.

Lightofthemoon · 30/09/2011 20:03

At least he bothered to do something, he could have left it in the machine to smell mouldy.....

valiumredhead · 30/09/2011 20:07

I tumble dry because it cuts out the ironing Grin

BarbarianMum · 30/09/2011 20:10

Well I wouldn't marry a man that did that tbh, but you've got him now. Does he have any redeeming features?

valiumredhead · 30/09/2011 20:13

Not even if he was hung like a donkey barbarian? Wink

MonkeysToesAreTickly · 30/09/2011 20:15

Congrats on the baby Reality. Have lots of Brew and Thanks from me.

OP, YANBU. Not hanging sheets should be a hanging offence Grin

NinkyNonker · 30/09/2011 21:06

I'd be mega pissed off. I am a line drying addict and our machine is only used in winter or emergencies/downpours.

mynewpassion · 30/09/2011 21:42

Yeah, please leave him immediately.

He's a controlling arse who is toxic, uncaring, and abusive. You should've left him yesterday to be honest.

TawnyGrisette · 30/09/2011 21:46

Twat. Hmm

squeakytoy · 30/09/2011 21:49

My husband once criticised the way I pegged out the washing..... he now gets that job seeing as he knows how to do it so much better Grin

lurkinginthebackground · 30/09/2011 21:51

Leaving him is an over reaction. However tumble drying in this weather is ridiculous.
