There are far too many 'perhaps' in that second sentence. I blame the 'sleep-aiding' tinsane Fids made for me earlier.

On the plus side, whilst I may not be asleep yet and my language skills seem to have failed, my hair has curled by itself and I no longer need my glasses.

Fiderer · 19/01/2012 06:56

Miss Sybil - I am heartened by your report of my new tisane. Curly hair and improved eyesight are both important for any of one's night-time activities.

The language skills aspect I shall tweak slightly, we cannot have your eloquence diminished. I shall hasten to the distillery herb-drying shed. Miss Mini and I have compiled several tomes which will aid me.

Fiderer · 19/01/2012 07:00

Entropy - "As long as it's ten in the morning"?

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 08:45

So, a slightly gangrenous Leg Rampant

Three Erb Bottles a la Chevrons

A Tatting Hook

And the motto: Infused Possets Only After Ten (am).

How splendid! Let us have two run up: one for the Hall next the Wolf Head and one to fly proud and free on the ramparts.

Fiderer · 19/01/2012 09:22

That sounds most suitable. The maids can run them up. It will divert their wanton looks away from the Under-Gardener.

I should like to fly proud and free on the ramparts.

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 10:01

I saw a cinematograph las tnight that featured the most divine young creature. Sadly his name escapes me or we could invite him for tea.

BeribbonedGibbon · 19/01/2012 15:49

Was he handsome Hully? Will I need to dig out my slacks with the double stiched gusset?

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 16:07

Triple I'd say.

entropygirl · 19/01/2012 17:00

Okay I have been cracking the whip over the gels all day and this is what we have. I need someone to produce a latin translation of the inscription obviously before it go on....

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 17:06

Oh Entropy

You are such a darling gel.

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 17:07

Sed post decem influxae Possets

I believe

entropygirl · 19/01/2012 17:07

I hope I did Mr Rochester's leg justice....I have heard so much and seen so little .

Fiderer · 19/01/2012 17:07

Applauds Entropygirl!

As my Latin teacher here ran off with one of the maids whilst I was mid-declination, my Latin is a little rusty but a quick search on google in my Latin Primer offers:

"Herbal Imbibo Tantum Secundum decimus hora"

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 17:09

If at all possible, and one doesn't wish to cavil, it coul do with looking a little more rotten.

entropygirl · 19/01/2012 17:09

'hora' seems particularly apt. I like it....

entropygirl · 19/01/2012 17:10

Of course dear Hully, it little more blue maybe? or a little more off the top?

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 17:12

More sort of chewed looking I think

Minimammoth · 19/01/2012 19:17

How splendid. We must be the only thread with our own coat of arms. Someone tell Justine.

Minimammoth · 19/01/2012 19:19

BTW. I read on todays news sheet that Johnny is unhappy. perhaps we could invite him to the hall and cheer him up a little.

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 19:35

Isn't it splendid? Miss Entropy is a dab hand at the heraldry. I wonder if she can somehow have our thread titles adorned?

Oh poor Johnny, I'm sure a restorative tisane would help him. And a lovely private intimate chat with myself, of course.

entropygirl · 19/01/2012 19:37

mini Oh dont tell anyone yet! It isn't finished! (I have had to borrow the girls to build me a chaise-longue, and they will not be resuming coat of arms work until tomorrow).

Minimammoth · 19/01/2012 19:46

Not to panic entropy. We have our standards to keep, it must of course be polished and twiddled before formal unveiling.

entropygirl · 19/01/2012 22:14

In other news the chaise longue is a fecking disaster. 185 doubloons for a total pile of turd fire wood.

sybilvimes · 20/01/2012 08:33

Obviously the answer to the chaise longue problem is to get Johnny to lie on it. Nothing would look like a piece of crap with Mr Depp adorning it surely?

Hullygully · 20/01/2012 08:51

Oh yes Miss Sybil, what a tremendous idea.

I have always been partial to les chaises longues, but they are demn awkward peices of furniture, suitable mainly for the vapours, I feel.
