Depends how old. Friend's DD weed in our garden the other day. She's just 2 and was not going to get to the toilet before having an accident.

Depends on the circumstances and the age of the children.

I'm a bit worried about the 'allow' part, I wouldn't suggest it, but sometimes you can't stop it. Like today, my 3 year old decided he wanted a wee, pulled down his pants and wee'd against my car tyre, on the school run, in front of everyone including the headteacher. Did I allow it? Well I didn't give permission exactly, but neither did I dive on him and try and stem the flow.

Up to the age of three yeah sure, albeit not sure they ever done it.

I used to have an overbearing friend who used to try and insist that my DD then 3, weed in her own garden. My DD stood her ground and said that she would go in the loo inside the house. Fekkin weird that !

Of course not. I wouldn't let a child of any age wee in anyone's garden, my own included! There is just absolutely no need - if a child is not yet reliable and can't hold on, take out a travel potty or find a discrete location, behind a tree or whatever.

I live on a long row of terraced houses, at the front there are tiny gardens approx 1m x 3m, a few months ago I saw a women with 2 small children maybe aged 2 & 4 walking out of our garden, I thought it was weird but thought maybe they needed the toilet or maybe they were just playing

Today walking home I saw the same woman with the 2 boys and the older one was weeing into a neighbours hedge

no, or in ours (toilet training accidents excluded, ds had a poo that once "just fell out" in our garden )... if they are that desperate i would find somewhere secluded not someones garden!

Having dc with bladder problems, outdoor emergency wees are something we often have to deal with. I would never, never allow my dc to wee in someone's garden. There is always a drain or a tree or a corner somewhere that they can use.

Of course, an accidental loss of control is a different matter, but deliberately? Absolutely not.

My friend's toddler aged 2 3/4 had come round to play and needed a wee, his mum had forgotten his potty, my DD is 12 months so we don't have one. He point blank refused to be held to wee on the big toilet, my friend was about to have a small panic, and I suggested he weed in the garden like his best friend does in his garden (and another friends garden.) He was delighted, did the wee outside, no accident in my house (phew!). What's the harm?!?!?

I would prefer she weed outside in the garden than indoors!
I wouldnt encourage it but if it was a desperate one off what the hell - cats wee in peoples gardens every day!

That's not a worm at the bottom of the garden. It's DS having a wee.

oh, and he weed over by the hedge, and i found it far preferable to the blinking cat poo, and i presume wee, that we keep finding. I'd rather not smell it near our rubber drain covers!!!!!!

err, smell the toddlers wee if he tried to go there, not someone else's cat... Just realised how badly written that last post was.

Yes, if it was going to prevent an accident in the knicks. You can always offer to pour a watering can full of water over the offending wee to make amends.

No, if child just being lazy and just doesn't want to go indoors to the loo.
