... some bloke passing comment? Tonight it was 'My tits are bigger than yours sweetheart'.

'I have no idea how I would react if some random female made a comment on my crotch; never happened, unlikely to ever happen. I imagine I would probably find it amusing though.'

Lucky you Larry, because women often get comments about their anatomy and yes, most of the time it's pathetic and childish and easy to ignore, but sometimes it is threatening and it's never welcome or flattering. When I see a group of blokes coming towards me I often steel myself for the inevitable comment. And this particular bloke was quite threatening actually, spread across the pavement with his mates and staring at my chest as he shouted at me. There's a big difference between 'Good luck' (imo patronising but harmless) and 'My tits are bigger than yours' (true, but still unpleasant).

I want to run with Pan in the future.

By the way O, my boobs aren't very big either. I feel for any woman bigger than a B cup who runs past the tosser who shouted at me.

I feel for any woman bigger than a B cup who runs full stop. Proper steel-reinforced industrial sports bras cost a blimming fortune Hmm

I run a lot - mostly off road, often up savage hills and sometimes with a lagging labrador behind me. People often make friendly comments - hill-related ones like "rather you than me" "nearly there" "you must be mad"; English weather related ones: "lovely day" "looks like rain later"; and dog related ones "can't you get him to pull you?" "looks like you're wearing him out"; and then just greetings - where I live it would be unusual to not say hello. but I've never had a boob related comment.

MissM · 28/09/2011 10:32

To be fair, I don't get the boob comments when I run off road, just when I run on the streets (not often, but it was getting dark the other night). What I don't get is that I really don't have much boob action going on at all.

and I've never had anyone say good luck. I'd think it a slighty strange choice but presume it well-meaning. has to be said I'm so glad to live somewhere where the default is that two strangers passing each other exchange a friendly acknowledgement. I went running in a couple of cities recently and it reminded how much I hate that head-down-I-don't-want-to-interact thing.

Goes without saying that sexual/body related comments are totally out of order.

Oh you are so no BU. I hate people staring or commenting when I'm running, don't know why they feel the need, really puts me off going for a run. When I used to run living in London it was fine because there were so many other runners, no-one batted an eyelid, but since moving to a smaller town I can't go out without people stopping and staring like the concept of exercise is completely lost on them.
