...as fire station resources are being needlessly used dealing with Normans shenanigans!'

It was too good a thread to miss storminabuttercup Wink

Norman needs bloody taking in hand, maybe if his mum didn't work all day in the shop...? Grin

That would be a bloody long vacation!! I think it's more likely she's sleeping with the fishes - the mob finally tracked her down to a small town in Wales.

TheLadyEvenstar · 26/09/2011 10:52

Bedhog,

Hmm I didn't think of that!!

paddypoopants · 26/09/2011 11:20

I think she found business got a bit slow after Bronwyn and Charlie opened up the more hip Wholefish Cafe. And what with the town only having 10 residents or something trade was bound to suffer.
OK I need to go and clean the bathroom or something and get off this thread.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 26/09/2011 11:33

I hope Dilys has reported Norman's father to the CSA.

SamsungAndDelilah · 26/09/2011 11:37

I think Dilys needs a bit more support. And the love of a good fireman.

rhondajean · 26/09/2011 11:44

I am so dim sometimes!! I actually thought we had taken to naming and shaming individual parents on MN now....

Shock
BelleDameSansMerci · 26/09/2011 11:49

Grin rhonda...

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 26/09/2011 11:54

Norman needs an asbo! That child does nothing but waste the fire service's time and resources, Dilys cannot control her son, and me and my DH believe that Norman was the result of a drunken one night stand with Sam (also Ginger) and this is how he gets away with it!

On a funnier note, my DS is ginger, and has taken to norman, says he isn't naughty and that i'm a little treasure! Grin

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 26/09/2011 11:56

oh and i say bring back bella from wherever she is...i liked bella! [sad mummy emoticon]

grubbalo · 26/09/2011 12:23

Poor Dilys, not only a single mum but a working mum to boot, and she goes on to have the most annoying son on the planet. The whole of Pontypandy (sp?) have a lot to answer for - the amount of money they waste on calling out the fire brigade is not very Big Society is it? Sam was called out the other day to help rescue Mandy's dad from the roof - no-one thought to ask next door if they had a spare ladder instead.

Mind you I lost a lot of sympathy for Dilys the day she called out the fire brigade because of the "wolf" in her shop (really a fox) - stupid irritating woman

headfairy · 26/09/2011 12:28

TheLadyEvenstar How can Norman's uncle (Dilys' brother) be called Mr Price? Surely Price is Dilys' married name? Unless Dilys had Norman out of wedlock

grubbalo · 26/09/2011 12:31

OMG Headfairy, I hadn't thought of that.. you are right - no wonder Norman is off the rails

headfairy · 26/09/2011 13:49

Don't even get me started on that song "it's the safest place I know. Pontypandy by the sea...." Sooo not safe. In a village of about 10 people they have to call the firebrigade on a daily basis. Norman's bedroom must have been redecorated about 30 times from all the fire damage. Ditto the Flood's house.

Dh takes massive umbrage at the stereotyping of Italians in Bella Lasagne. Dilys makes a particularly racist comment in one of the older episodes when she says something along the lines of "Italians are always making a fuss. They should stick to pasta or something" Shock

But I do like the ever so slightly off hand bitchy way Sam patronises Elvis... "Ah it's really quite simple Elvis, the trick is to get the glue on the patch and not all over your face" (when Elvis' attempt to mend a puncture goes awry)

Should I be embarrassed that I can quote lines verbatim? Ds is obsessed with Fireman Sam, our cat is called Sam in his honour. DD has now been similarly indoctrinated. One of her first words was Saaaaaaam!

TheLadyEvenstar · 26/09/2011 14:05

Shock looks like Norman was born out of wedlock.

I think the firestation had a party and Dilys had a few too many then tried it on with Trevor, being the shy man he is he knocked her back and so she fell into Sams arms sobbing. Then like in a romantic movie she looked up at him and they ended up kissing. Sam led Dilys to Jupiter where he shagged her senseless, Dilys afterwards ran home crying because she felt she had betrayed Trevor only to find a few months later she was pregnant. Sam and Dilys came to an agreement that she would keep the baby and he would support her however he could, BUT nobody was to know he was the father.

BupcakesandCunting · 26/09/2011 14:15

YABU

And very judgey.

Walk a mile in Dilys's shoes...

headfairy · 26/09/2011 14:22

I've walked thousands of miles in Dilys's shoes Bupcakes :o

AgentZigzag · 26/09/2011 18:02

DD2 is really into Fireman 'nee nar' Sam at the min, and I've been totally overthinking had similar thoughts to a lot of posters about the circumstances surrounding Normans Dad not being there.

I've also wondered at the lack of residents in Pontipandy.

I came to the conclusion it's a Hot Fuzz/Wickerman situation, where, for The Greater Good of the Fire Service community, all the safety conscious/H and S freaks (ie those who listen to Sams holier than thou speeches) have been killed horribly 'relocated'.

Thanks for your interesting useless crap info TLE Grin

And for putting yourself in considerable pain to aid the understanding of Norman and his poor long suffering Mum.

Hope it's feeling better soon.

AZZ, can you tell I have a Sireman Sam aka Fireman Sam fan here? Grin

Grumpla · 26/09/2011 18:33

Blimey. I feel very well-educated now Grin

plupervert · 26/09/2011 19:37

AgentZigzag, I must admit that I blagged that expression of admiration from you, and I am deeply ashamed. I know nothing of Dilys Price, only supposed that she was a fictional character.

I prostrate myself.

AgentZigzag · 26/09/2011 22:12

That you didn't know who the fuck she was just makes me even more impressed with your intuitive powers plurps Smile

(you can get up now, that floor looks rite cold)

storminabuttercup · 27/09/2011 09:06

I think we've done really well to get this far on this thread without someone coming on to say YABU, children shouldn't be watching tv at all therefore you shouldn't know who these characters are.

TheLadyEvenstar · 27/09/2011 10:04

SIABC - you know its us parents that watch it really Wink

plupervert · 27/09/2011 10:28

(Sorry, I needed that laugh after a lengthy new-mover "chat" with a HV - how do they make everything in life seem pathological?)

IsSamNormansDad · 27/09/2011 10:28

Its all a ploy to keep you us guessing! Adds a wee extra dimension for us avid watchers bored senseless by it. Grin
