a rogue piece of salami I found lurking in the dark corners of our fridge? I am even contemplating a dollop of Hellman's on top.

Am in monstrously piggy mood - actually can anyone think of a piggier, more lard-laden breakfast because if you can I will eat it and that's a promise.

I have crumpets, I have cheese, I have kids out all day!

Proudnscary · 24/09/2011 10:12

I know it sounds wrong, but I promise it is the best way to eat crumpets. Making me hungry now Grin

ChippingIn · 24/09/2011 10:24

Just had crumpets with peanut butter & banana while watching the Rugby Grin

BertieBotts · 24/09/2011 10:29

The greasiest breakfast I can stomach is a bacon sandwich, made with eggy bread.

Proudnscary · 24/09/2011 10:35

I'm sorry Chipping, although it's a crumpet democracy on here I am really quite adverse to sweet toppings. Crumpets are for marmite, butter, cheese... not bananas. I hope I am not offending.

Half a chocolate orange and a twix was the brekkie of the day here. Blush It makes these sound positively healthy and balanced. Grin

Proudnscary · 24/09/2011 10:35

Bertie - fried bread?

Do you know what would top off the melted cheese best, brown sauce. A good old blob of Daddys/HP on the top. Or Hendersons relish. Drooling now at thoughts of it.

I love these threads in comparison with the 'what my children are allowed to eat' type threads.

Today's kids (if you believe MN) seem to only be allowed water, carrot sticks and raisins.

I bet they can't wait to grow up and eat like us lot do Grin

Well DS is eating birthday cake for breakfast...

Eggy bread is fried, Proud! I like fried bread, but hate the way it always seems to create clouds of smoke. There's a great cafe near here which does a brilliant cooked breakfast complete with toast AND fried bread!

Charleymouse · 24/09/2011 10:42

Worra the reason I had chocolate orange is because my kids had one each for breakfast. Blush Not proud of this to be honest but we struggle to get DD to eat anything in a morning and DS has been rewarded for being good at school all week so all normal rules off this morning. DD has also eaten a good spatula full of homemade lipgloss [boak]

worraliberty · 24/09/2011 10:44

Charley you don't have to explain, it's just nice to see people being so refreshingly honest Grin

Chandon · 24/09/2011 10:48

apple cake with custard is my fave breakfast. With a big milky coffee

Proudnscary · 24/09/2011 10:49

Charley/Worra - I once gave my son an out-of-date Slimfast can of chocolate milkshake for breakfast.

Oh sorry re the eggy bread mix up - yes fried bread is hard to perfect when you the most useless cook in the western world like me

Bacon sandwich here BUT it was DH's that he had made FOR HIMSELF so tasted twice as good as it normally would. Greedy sod, did he think I couldn't smell the bacon cooking? Grin

HedleyLamarr · 24/09/2011 11:37

Smoked streaky bacon and egg sandwich has just been consumed here and I'm still hungry. Never mind, it's nearly dinner time!

Proudnscary · 24/09/2011 11:39

Nothing tastes as good as a stolen sandwich, Wilson.

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/09/2011 11:46

Eggy bread with maple syrup and streaky bacon is what I'm planning when ds emerges from his pit.
All fried of course.

borntoberiled · 24/09/2011 11:50

They were delicious! They must be the correct brand though. I hope you all know what I mean.

Proudnscary · 24/09/2011 11:51

No I don't and I demand to know!

happygilmore · 24/09/2011 12:24

Have just had a fishfinger sandwich for lunch Grin

SnapesMistress · 24/09/2011 12:33

I ate Galaxy Counters for breakfast, do I win?

Andrewofgg · 24/09/2011 12:38

God, I'm hungry now . . .

whackamole · 24/09/2011 13:41

Crumpets should NEVER EVER be eaten with anything but lashings of butter.

That is all.
