well I've taken my earrings out for the first time in like, ages, and my ear smells of a sort of gorgonzola dolce.

Its not infected or anything, but I've found a bit of sort of cheesy leftover round where my earrings were.

I'm now slumped on the sofa in pj's, in an empty house, enjoying having a good old rummage.

Oh no. A nasty cold is enough to do it. When I had tonsilitis I didn't get any. It was disappointing to have no reward for all that pain.

Oh and they smell. I fight the urge to tell people with bad breath to check their tonsils

Can I just ask about the tonsil stone thingies....I've never noticed any on my tonsils but is it possible to get them just floating about in your mouth? Occasionally I'll get a little pellet of something white and smelly in my mouth that I have to spit out. Could that be a stray tonsil stone, or something else?

Selks Yep. But look on the bright side. Your tongue must be super strong to work them out without you noticing. It's already the strongest muscle in the body, give or take the heart.

This thread reminds me of the time I kept smelling this odd smell - for, like months. I kept saying to my dh and dc 'Can you smell that horrible rotting smell?' then I started smelling my clothes, my hair and eventually put my hand to my ear and yes the smell was cheesey yucky ear holey thing you speak of.
It was my new diamond earrings what did it.
Mystery solved. And no I didn't like it (weirdo).
