I may be wrong, but am curious. Any clues (if I'm right) why that is?

Does anyone really believe it when a man says he's separated really, or is that hearing what they want to hear? I know there are some gullible people in the world, but surely 'together for the kids' is the ultimate cliche that cannot have escaped even the truly thick?

I saw some statistics a few years ago that said that men are slightly more likely to have affairs but there's not a lot of difference.
