AIBU to not wash uniform after one days wear?

I am ready to be told i am but feel there is no need to wash complete uniform after one days wear (unless stained)?

I only was shirts daily, everything else gets done once a week unless it's trashed with mud or tomato ketchup or something.

I always wash the shirts/blouses each day but jumpers once a week (unless dirty) and skirts every 2-3 days. Would do the same with DS trousers but he seems to like rolling in mud each day!

DD gets a clean shirt every day, trousers (she hates skirts) she wears the whole week unless they get marked; jumpers the same. She can sometimes get more than a week's wear out of the jumpers if she has managed to avoid getting her lunch down the front!

I wash DS's uniform when it is either visibly dirty, or smelly. Otherwise it gets worn the next day.

White polo is fresh every day. Trousers every 2 days as he enjoys doing knee slides through mud. jumpers last ages as he wears his for assembly in the morning then stuffs it in his bag

I'm amazed that any of your kids come home with clean uniform! Ds comes home with mud on his trousers, food on his polo top or jumper etc. We have 6 trousers and jumpers so we know there's enough for the week plus one spare in case they're not washed or dried.

If your dd comes home clean, yanbu! Wash it all every couple of days.

YANBU - dd's is clean every other day. Polo shirt too if it's clean, but it's normally not.

vmcd I also have two ds's..... that was everyday too. Dd is much cleaner than them!

YANBU - clean shirt/blouse each day (and underwear of course). The rest of it can go a week if they don't roll in the mud, pour paint over it, etc. I don't wash my trousers and jumpers every day after all!

URDNBU! Clean polo shirt every day also underwear and socks. I normally have to change his trousers mid week. It depends how dirty they get. I also polish his shoes but thats just me....

Doesn't it rather depend on the age of your DC? Younger kids don't seem to sweat & older ones are good at sponging dirt off if it's pointed out (or they could be). Here's my today's wish: if all of us mums washed our kids' uniform a bit less, my two DDs wouldn't look quite so ungroomed by Friday.

DS is 6, and wears polo shirt, jumper and trousers all week, unless he's got something on them, or put a new hole in the trousers.

when I was a girl I had one skirt even as a teenager. never did me any harm!

YANBU. I only got DD two shirts that fit her, I didn't realise they would disappear out of the shops as soon as school started either. These last her all week.
OTOH, she has a skirt, a pinafore and two pairs of trousers. Skewed priorities much?
She's also got one school cardigan which I will wash for the first time this weekend.

My kids used to come home lookign pretty grimy, so I didn't change into home clothes, and had completely clean uniform every day when they were in Reception/Yr1.
Once they stopped spilling food down their fronts, I used to whip off the jumpers and trousers to save them for next day the minute we got home, but shirts always got changed every day. And of course any peed in trousers [sorry TMI]
Later on, shirts still got changed EVERY DAY, but trousers and pinafores and jumpers usually lasted two or three days.

One trip to park though after school is enough to mean clothes ready for wash basket.

I never ironed anything. Ever. Otherwise I suspect I might not have kept up the washing frenzy.

DD wears a pair of trousers all week. Her shirt gets changed only if it is dirty. She is in her second week at high school and so far she has worn two shirts as they don't get dirty or sweaty. She does change as soon as she gets home from school though. Her blazer will get washed when necessary, but after two weeks wear I haven't had to do so. I must have an exceptionally clean daughter.

YANBU, I wash it as little as I can get away with.

Having helped in school, I can say there are number of children who smelt, and wore visibly grimy, stained , sweaty clothes. Surely point of uniform is that it is v.easy to wash, care for, drip dry, and hardwearing compared to "normal" clothes, often cheaper than normal clothes, so why don't people have more than one of them!!!!!

I haven't washed my daughter's cardigan all week.... it seems to live on her peg, so there seems little point

dd is 9, wears same trousers all week if i can get away with it. wears 2 shirts, wears one cardy, again it's whatever i can get away with!!
