Ds nearly 3, potty trained, so we took the gate off his room so he can us the toilet as the potty is to small.

Tonight I go upstairs as I can here him, go into the bathroom the hot taps are on full (this has happened before so that I had no hot water in the morning) but in the sink is a used tampon, ok yuk I can't flush them as we have a leachfield, so I put them in a small bin; emptied every morning. The two dirty nappies are on a low shelf and the other tampon hes tried to shove down the bidet plughole there is water all over the floor. All he says to me is 'done a poo poo mammy' aarghh!

So I said no Fireman Sam in the morning and yes I did tap his bum not hard but he already knew I was mad. There has been similar antics every night this week. So I had already sent him to bed with 'be a good boy and go straight to sleep and you can watch Fireman Sam' So disappointed with him, and I should have pulled the handles off the taps.

So AIBU what should I do with him, I am fed up I am almost past parenting him he is so difficult.

nobody said you should flush sanitary products, PH

DoMeDon · 13/09/2011 22:32

I used to put my used ones in bin - out of toddler reach!

Who mentioned loo brushes?

usingapseudonym · 14/09/2011 09:22

Ok I'll bite. What do people use instead of loo brushes...?

AuntieMonica · 14/09/2011 09:27

tampons and towels in the bin, whatever next?

you'll be telling me they make reusable/washable pads and nappies soon Grin

i have no problem with those, but a TOILET BRUSH Shock

I got fed up of seeing skids in the loo, especially if I've been at work and it was deposited in the morning.

I use it to clean the skids off then place the brush in the little holder which has bleach in the bottom.

At night I will put some bleach in the loo and put the brush down the loo to clean it. No one gets ill.

I suppose I could leave my DH and give DS1 to social services for just not getting the hang of cleaning the loo.

We have on loo in our house. 1 man, 2 boys and me. Don't take my loo brush away!

PeneloPeePitstop · 14/09/2011 10:18

Absolutely, bleach in the brush holder is a must.
The skids we get in our loo.... well I'm really not putting my hand down there for bloody anything.

AnyFucker · 14/09/2011 14:32

< quiet voice >

I have a bog brush. Two, actually. Sshhhhh....

Honeydragon · 14/09/2011 14:45

I have one too and I nicked it from Centreparcs cleaning cupboard

AbbyAbsinthe · 14/09/2011 14:54

Oh some of you people do make me laugh. Practically apoplectic with rage at the thought of someone leaving used sanitary products in the bathroom bin. That's what it's there for? And she had wrapped them. Better than flushing them down the loo, isn't it?

However OP, you do need to supervise him a bit more I think - it's the scalding hot water that worries me more than anything.

AnyFucker · 14/09/2011 15:10

you common thief HD Grin

mine are el Cheapos from Asda, because I replace them every few weeks

bonkers20 · 14/09/2011 15:11

I got mine from Woolworths. Oooo, maybe it's a collectors item.

AnyFucker · 14/09/2011 15:16

I don't think you would get much at Antiques Roadshow for a used bog brush Grin

Ok ok ok well..

I have a son the same age and he is also dry day and night. He is, however, happy to use his potty in his bedroom. He is well behaved on the whole but I could never give him free access to the toilet unsupervised - especially at bedtime as he would of course prefer to be out of his room.

Get the potty sorted in his bedroom or use the monitor idea. I would be frantic that he would have badly scolded himself Sad

It would probably be a good idea for you to go with him to the toilet until he is old enough to go alone. Make sure he uses the toilet before he goes to bed and then lift him before you go to bed. This doesn't usually wake them up very much and there is less chance your DS will need to get up again.
