To think that a lunch hour

At work, should be at a time at least somewhere around lunchtime? I have to have my breakfast at 7am (dropping dc off at 2 different places) - I'm STARVING by the time my rota'd lunchbreak comes up at 1.30pm. We aren't allowed to have snacks in between either. Is it just because I'm still bf'ing my 7mo in the evening and through the night? Am I abnormal that by 12.30pm, my stomach is growling SO loudly that customers comment on it?? Blush. I had porridge for breakfast, so a hearty breakfast not a weedy cereal bar.

you could eat a banana on bus or some nuts or may be your bowl of porridge needs to be bigger, some how you just need more food ni the morning. I think 1.30 for lunch is ok but it is right you are only entitled to break after 6 hours work ( it is 4.5 hours if under 18 or maybe its 16) if you are still BF and need to express they should allow time and facilities for that but again if start at 9.30 they may feel that 1.30 is reasonable breaks are not paid however,

Think you're being a little but U.

I start work at 7am, which means leaving my house at 6am. I usually have my lunch at either 10.45 or 2.30 depending. I am a manager of a coffee shop, so breaks have to be fitted in around busy lunch rushes. In some jobs its just the way it is. I can't eat until my break either.

It may just be whilst you are BFing? Your body will adjust to the timings, but in the mean time just have more for breakfast and "filling" drinks whilst working.

We get a thirty minute meal break in a twelve hour shift, if I start at 0600 then I have to leave home at 4.45 and find that's too early to have breakfast. I find my body adapts but do sometimes find myself shaking if meal breaks are late (should be between 11.30 and 1.30 on a 0600-1800). It can't be healthy though.

Eat something on the bus!

Look into your. Rights as a BFing mother. I think you're supposed to get more breaks?

Employers don't have to legally do anything for breastfeeding mothers, apart ensure there are adequate rest facilities and storage for expressing milk Highlander. And this is only an encouragement not a legal requirement.

Also I think you are making your home life way more difficult than it needs to be OP, try simplifying things a bit and bribe ask your eldest to help you out with stuff. I dont see why you need to wait for her to go to bed to get things done. My eight six and three year old are roped in to age appropriate tasks to help me in preparation for their new breastfed brother or sister coming along :) I'll be buggered if I am doing everything!

My Gran works as an Auxiliary Nurse on nightshift. She works 12 and a half hour shifts and rarely actually gets a break at all (we know this isn't legal but they are understaffed, busy and don't have a choice) because they are so busy! Shock
