I pay £3 for DD to get her hair done at the local hairdressers, but this is Glasgow - I used to pay that each for DS1 & 2 in the south-east 10 years ago.

dnephew gets his done at the barbers for 4.50, 5 at the weekends - thats for a 0 all round and a 1 or 2 on top.

ive taken him to my hairdressers a few times and they are 12.50 but i like the way they interact with him and coo on him

I do my DS's hair myself with hair clippers; he has really curly hair so a grade 4 all over is easiest

£8 at the weekend £7 in the week at any of the barbers round here

Toni & Guy charge £15 which given Trotters (our other local kiddie salon)charge £12.50 and do a worse job than me seems quite reasonable. Cutting boys hair is hard if they have a longish cut.

My DS is 14 months with very little hait but wanted about a centimeter off of the top so it looked a bit less like a toupee, DH was having his hair cut so at the end sat him on his knee for 2 minute job...they charged £6! My hairdresser told me the next day she doesnt charge if she is doing a parents hair too!

?10 here in the kids cuts place, though I do the two oldest myself, one with clippers, one layers with the scissors, so I only bring the toddler in for a cut.

Our hairdresser charged DM £5 whilst we were at school, then us £8 until we graduated (for just a cut, not wash & blow dry). That was in a small town in Norfolk... you might need to head to the sticks or maybe look at City College (Norwich) and see if they have a salon there. They're usually very good about arranging things for their students to practice on the general public and they tend to get - from word of mouth - good reviews :)

I pay £7.50 for my boys. They both have long hair though so it's a proper cut rather than a blade ... all over IYSWIM.

£9 rings a bell for trimming the DDs. Both need doing again, but DD2 is refusing to go. Stroppy preteen, finding the right moment is better than arguing

£7 here for kids and OAPs but £9 on a weekend

It's £4.00 for my DH, who is two and a half now. They charge the same for a grown man to have a trim.

Ds has just turned 3 and it's £6 for him (would be a fiver if he held still enough for anyone other than the salon owner to do it)

Im in Brighton and Ive searched and searched for a place thst does it for less than £15, we've finay found a barber that'll do it for £8 and thats with a discount. They rob you blind here.

Farking hell. In my medium-sized town in the SE, the cheapest I can get DS1 & DS2's hair cut (both need scissor cuts, look thuggish with shaved hair) is £10. Which seems to be the dearest. I would have thought London would be dearer. £10 is the cheapest - some salons here charge upwards of £20-£25 for under 12's. DS1 is 9yo, DS2 is 7yo.

Oh God, I'm tired. That post made no sense. Sorry - I'll try again, and this time I'll try to get my point across clearly. . Cheapest place in my town is £10. Which seems to be the dearest on this thread. I hope that makes my previous post semi-understandable...

For what is essentially a 5 minute hair cut they charge £8.50 here. I think it's shocking.

We are in London suburbs..DS1 tells me that he pays £7 at the barbers for his. Paid haircuts are a new thing in this house, until about 18 months ago I had always cut the DS's hair myself (they are now 10 and 13, and require 'styles' which are beyond the No. 2 all over powers of the clippers!)

I have paid anything between £6 and £15 in the past 12 years.

I'd expect to pay about £9 at the barbers. (Weirdly the hairdressers is cheaper)
