It is everywhere, everywhere, EVERYWHERE. Gah.

And while I'm at it, pregnant celebrities who pose for the cameras cradling their bumps. Spew.

OP posts:

Isn't Cath Kidston married to Phil Collins?

I just bought DS some lovely blue spotty Cath Kidston towels Blush. Nonetheless, I agree with what most of you lot said.

levantine · 08/09/2011 20:34

meant to say a knitting bag is what Cath Kidston is for

AchtungBaby · 08/09/2011 20:41

Oh dear, I think I wasn't paying my full attention to Desert Island Discs - Cath Kidston's DP isn't Phil Collins - he's a record producer who has engineered / produced Phil Collins at some point Blush.

FantasticVoyage · 08/09/2011 20:45

Hugh Padgham?

AchtungBaby · 08/09/2011 21:02

Yep, that's him Smile.

reelingintheyears · 08/09/2011 21:19

Hugh Padgham?

Cath Kidston?

Who fucking gives a shit?

STANERLY?....GET HERE NOW.

reelingintheyears · 08/09/2011 21:21

Cath Kidston...

You have just lost moi.

And once i did love you.

WorzselMummage · 08/09/2011 21:26

CK must be laughing all the way to the bank.

It's all HIDEOUS.

MrsJasonBourne · 08/09/2011 21:40

I was actually starting to worry about my pretty CK handbag when I remembered that everybody that has posted on here has done so because they agree with the op. They are probably a miniscule percentage of the population. I only ever see one or two CK handbags round where I live.

Now if someone starts a thread about Emma Bridgewater, I'm right with you

pranma · 08/09/2011 21:52

I bought the 'cowboy' t-shirt for dgs and the quality was very disappointing.

Mermaidspam · 08/09/2011 22:08

Some things aren't too bad (I like the blueberry lipbalm) but others, that pram for example, look like a pair of legging I had in 1988.

Mermaidspam · 08/09/2011 22:08

*leggings

HipHopOpotomus · 08/09/2011 22:16

Some of it is quite nice, but it's just so overdone so I avoid it.

Feminine · 08/09/2011 22:30

I like it Blush a lot.

My whole home (apart from boys rooms) is shabby chic.

Sookeh · 08/09/2011 22:42

YABU

Cath Kidston stuff is so lovely. I'd kit my whole house out in it if I could;
A) Afford it
B) Get rid of DH

HTH Grin

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 08/09/2011 22:58

I like the idea of it, but not the reality. It's all so same-y and Page 72 of the interior decorating catalogue. Too matchy-matchy.

I admit it, I love the vintage, quirky, shabby chic look, especially in kitchens and bedrooms, but prefer it to be more organic and pulled together from all sorts of different sources (and definitely less in-your-face polka dots and ditsy (ditsy, FFS!!) florals), rather than just going into her shop and ordering one of everything.

So, in summary - YANBU. Grin

usualsuspect · 08/09/2011 23:02

Its all twee and flowery and try to hard and a rip off

smartyparts · 09/09/2011 00:47

YANBU - it makes me want to vomit. In fact Cath Kidston oil cloths are wipeable, possibly for that reason.

I also abhor the bump holding and any waddling from pregnant women.

Birdsgottafly · 09/09/2011 01:05

I had never heared of CK, until this thread.

I have just realised, after looking at the pram and googling her, that i have bought a copy of one of her bags from Primark, only because i needed a bag big enough to put a file in that went with black. So now it's hit Primark, it hopefully should die out pretty quick.

MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism · 09/09/2011 05:06

I used to love CK 8 years ago when my dd was approaching her final weeks of gestation.

Now, meh.

I have the mugs (a gift), the Ikea ripoff duvet set and some bits and pieces from arty farty bricabrac type shops.

But the cost Shock Shock

And the people in the Bicester shopping outlet! I swore off CK at that moment. (Sadly DD is now approaching the age where she loves it. sigh)

BagofHolly · 09/09/2011 08:46

For reasons I'm unable to explain, the fact that CK and Kirstie Allsopp are cousins, has given me The Rage. I feel a bit like I did when I realised that Emma Bridgewater isn't just some mumpreneur with a spare kiln, knocking out teapots, she's actually propped up by her cousin, who happens to be Richard Branson.

FantasticVoyage · 09/09/2011 12:40

"(Sadly DD is now approaching the age where she loves it. sigh)"

38?

levantine · 09/09/2011 19:16

I can't stand Emma Bridgewater stuff boring boring boring

I do know what you mean BagofHolly, it's as if they're all in on it together, telling us what we should like and then charging the earth for it

FootballFriend · 09/09/2011 19:35

"So now it's hit Primark, it hopefully should die out pretty quick." Good observation there.

EssW2 · 09/09/2011 19:37

CK has been overdone. And I hate to say it but Orla K is heading the same way.

I love Orla K stuff Sad
