It is everywhere, everywhere, EVERYWHERE. Gah.

And while I'm at it, pregnant celebrities who pose for the cameras cradling their bumps. Spew.

YANBU (even if you did use three exclamation marks at 17:25:42, OP - and this is joke!!!! [wunk] Grin

Cannot stand Cath Kidwotzit or pregnant fucking slebs hugging their bumps.

Bloody hell: I also agree with Jamie Oliver etc shit - have you seen the goddam JO tomato plants etc at Homebase?? Jesus christ.

bibbitybobbityhat · 08/09/2011 18:03

Actually, I can see why teenage girls might like a bit of CathK. When dd was spending an inordinate amount of time looking for a birthday present for her 10 y/o friend the other day, she couldn't decide between the ck purse, photo frame, makeup bag, rubber gloves, dishbrush, dusters etc.

But its not ok for any proper grown-up wimmin to love it though, shirley?

Hullygully · 08/09/2011 18:05

no no, agreed dd is 13 and it is de rigeur. she died with happiness when i bought one for her and just looke dat it for 2 days with a happy glow.

I said she could have it for starting school so she felt all fitting in like. But never again.

diddl · 08/09/2011 18:06

I don´t like it & it seems expensive.

I don´t see why it has such a "following".

It seems that someone has decided it´s a "must have", & I think some buy it for that reason-just to have some.

SDTGisAnEvilGenius · 08/09/2011 18:10

A little of Cath Kidston goes a long way, I think. I have the big canvas tote bag as my knitting bag, and I love it. I also have a bath towel and hand towel with roses on that dh got me for valentines day - and it's OK, I quite like it, but the bath sheet is not very big, and doesn't wrap round me as well as my ordinary towels - but every time I bung them to the wash, thinking I can go back to an ordinary towel, he puts them straight back out, from the tumble dryer, for me. And it bugs me if the roses are the wrong way up when I hang up the towel.

There's one thing worse than pregnant celebs cradling their bumps, imo - and that's celebs who gave birth only 5 minutes ago and are already back in their pre-pregnancy jeans, looking radiant and utterly gorgeous. I am 14 years post-partum, and have yet to achieve radiance or a figure that doesn't resemble a bouncy castle, dammit.

www.cathkidston.co.uk/p-15678-cath-kidston-spot-folded-zip-wallet.aspx

I have this in green and i love it.

And it has turned out to be the cheapest purse i have ever had because i have never lost it after three years!

warmandwooly · 08/09/2011 18:23

I like a little CK. I bought a travel pass/purse. Combination type wallet which is useful and bought a pouch from a charity shop really cheaply.

bibbitybobbityhat · 08/09/2011 18:26

Heh heh, I expect the pouch in the charity shop was "re-gifted" by someone like me.

OP posts:
grumplestilskin · 08/09/2011 18:29

I love that KIND of fabric, but hate CK cause you don't look at it and say "oh there's some nice retro fabrick" I look at it and think "there goes another cath kitson, yawn!" its part of the uniform in certain places..

and the quality is cr@p. My LO got a few bits of the cowboy stuff and it goes all misshapen in the wash. If I'm gonna splash out I'ld rather white company, doesn't just look like white company IYKWIM, and is amazing quality

notlettingthefearshow · 08/09/2011 18:38

Like some of it but generally too flowery for me. And so expensive! Prefer more unusual things. But that's just me being a snob

BellaneyMimphus · 08/09/2011 18:41

The colours are very garish
Like Amy Butler (the fabrics)
Too candy

BellaneyMimphus · 08/09/2011 18:42

Because it's mass produced and I think the less subtle dyes are cheaper

Showy.

FreudianSlipper · 08/09/2011 18:44

kc wellies on adults just look ridiculously stupid nearly as bad as ugg boots but worn by a few celebs that no doubt receive some money to look so silly and many will follow

shineynewthings · 08/09/2011 18:46

YANBU God help us it's on Pushchairs now too?! It is reaching overkill stage.. bedlinen, crockery, fabric, tapestry designs, sewing accessories, aprons, tea towels, what's next....knickers?

BellaneyMimphus · 08/09/2011 18:49

Sanitary towels (not a joke, I hear there are some in the, er, pipeline).

shineynewthings · 08/09/2011 18:49

BellaneyMimphus Please don't compare Amy Butler to Cath Kidston they're worlds apart in terms of actual design capability. Well IMO anyway.

shineynewthings · 08/09/2011 18:53

BellaneyMimphus Grin Yep, I really want to see red stained freesias and roses at the bottom of my knickers every month....

Tortington · 08/09/2011 18:56

everyone attending this has kath kidson

i have a mug

overmydeadbody · 08/09/2011 18:58

I agree with Shiney, please don't go lumping Amy Butler with Cath Kidston, they are not in the same league at all. I love Amy Butler fabric.

FantasticVoyage · 08/09/2011 19:06

A fellow poster on a now-defunct forum I used to inhabit described Cath Kidston's range as "...for women who like to pretend they don't have a fanny..."

shineynewthings · 08/09/2011 19:20

Grin FantasticVoyage

FootballFriend · 08/09/2011 20:04

You mean front bottom, surely?

LadyOfTheManor · 08/09/2011 20:10

I like a bit of Kidston.

Have a nappy bag...mugs...writing paper...shopping tote (literally for the green grocers). Twee it may be, but it's pretty.

levantine · 08/09/2011 20:14

I've got a knitting case, which is really what Cath Kidston isn't it?

Round my way you can't move for CK changing bags
