AIBU to intensely dislike the word "cum" for orgasm?

I don't know why but just reading the word in that spelling makes me actually shudder!

Why isn't it just spelled properly? I don't even get bothered by the "c*" word that makes some people gasp in horror, but this teensy 3 letter word makes my eyeballs want to melt.

Surely there must be an alternative?

If you just mean the spelling yanbu, I guess.

If you mean the word, I can't imagine what I would replace it with. "yeah dh no don't move ah ah oh I am about to have an orgasm!"

picnicbasketcase · 06/09/2011 16:43

'Come' is alright.
'Cum' is revolting.

A friend of mine is a coroner. In one case she had a man who had died while having sex with a prostitute. The prostitute said "He was hard at it and suddenly he sighed loudly. I thought he'd cum but he had gorn".

Sidge · 06/09/2011 17:08

"Cum" is such a porny word to me so on that basis I really don't like it.

"Come" or "coming" to describe semen/ejaculate/orgasm is OK. But "cum" is just vile.

Agree with that spelling it is horrible, but "come" is fine and thats how it is spelt in my head if me or DH say it

Can't think of a different word to use though......"Please do not stop I am about to reach a crescendo of stimulation resulting in a most satisfying orgasm" doesn't work so well for me :)

Goodynuff · 06/09/2011 19:53

I like to think of it as "Celebrating"

"Whew! That celebration left me breathless!"
"I love when DH and I get a chance to celebrate together"
"A celebration just isn't the same when there is no one else there to enjoy it with you"

magicmelons · 06/09/2011 19:58

How often do you have to write it down though Confused Grin.

Agree, hate seeing it written don't mind it spoken though.

robotlollypopman · 06/09/2011 19:58

How about baby porridge for ejaculate? As in ''FFS Frank, some of your baby porridge has gone in my eye.''

msshapelybottom · 07/09/2011 07:41

OH NOOO at baby porridge Grin

I don't have to write it down very often I have to confess....but when I do I bloody well spell it the non porny way!

What would be the past tense?

Vixaxn · 07/09/2011 08:54

I suppose in a way the word describes something 'past tense.' Ha.

Helltotheno · 07/09/2011 08:55

'Came' I guess...

Haven't seen anyone stoop to the level of 'cummed' or owt like that... phew...

Faffalina · 07/09/2011 09:08

urgh (cummed)

Vixaxn · 07/09/2011 09:08

I don't like the cum spelling either btw.
