I agree with your title, mankind need all of those things, but it is up to each individual to ensure they get those things.

My DP needs regular food, so he makes sure he gets regular food. Ditto with the sleep and time to do what he wants.

I do the same, for myself.

We both ensure DS has what he needs too.
