I think I have been to meetings everywhere Rainbow Smile

Mostly up North though, Wharfedale, Leeds, Stockport, Liverpool...I'm like a LLL groupie Grin.

Best cake so far is the apple cake made the Liverpool South LLL leader (I emailed her for the recipe!).

rainbowinthesky · 02/09/2011 14:41

You are a groupie! Is that with your commune? Wink

KellyKettle · 02/09/2011 14:55

Haha! Yes, there's always enough cake for all!

I used to attend meetings near home sometimes then the venue changed so I went to meetings near DHs work. We moved house so I went to a workshop in Stockport to consider LLL training and then heard about the new group in Liverpool and went along to show support.

I don't have the time to fit them in now but I did love being in a room where I could feed DD and not feel strange. She generally only feeds at home now so I don't think about it anymore but if I end up tandem feeding next month I'll probably go rushing back! Smile

rainbowinthesky · 02/09/2011 14:58

I used to love going to the meetings too and we even had a summer party in the leader's garden.

hairfullofsnakes · 02/09/2011 17:25

Fascinating how I seem to effect a certain poster that she has to keep referring to me - and amusing...

Kellykettle I go to LL meetings too, they are great!

hairfullofsnakes · 02/09/2011 17:26

Kellykettle - can I get that recipe?!

KellyKettle · 02/09/2011 17:57

hairfull I will dig it out of my emails and PM you over the weekend Smile

hairfullofsnakes · 02/09/2011 18:10

Thanks kellykettle, that's great. It's lovely seeing great views like yours on here! X

FleurTing · 02/09/2011 18:27

I breastfed my DD until 13 months, and stopped because of persistent remarks from my mother who said it wasnt right to continue at an age when DD was running around and starting to talk. I regretted it, as I enjoyed the closeness of breastfeeding, and although my DD soon adapted to drinking from a cup I felt bereft because it was the end of a big part of babyhood. TBH I think it was more of an issue for me than for her - she still got as many cuddles! This is a decision you should make by yourself, it is none of FILs business. If your DH is fine with it and you and your DCs are obviously happy why cave in to someone else`s opinion?

hairfullofsnakes · 02/09/2011 19:32

It's amazing how many people think bf should stop after a certain age with no basis for their views or any real facts as to why. It is such a shame that so many people are so ill-informed on bf.

redsun Fri 02-Sep-11 09:11:31 What hang ups am I demonstrating? I have gaps in my knowledge that I want to fill? Please don't tell me you work in education because if someone asks a question to gain knowledge and are then told they have a hang up, d'y' not think that is kind of counterproductive?

Pamsco for one I think using comparing urine to BM is highly highly highly offensive. If you really can not see that you are culturally insensitive to say the very very least then I find that truly bizarre.

No I don't work in education but I hope some of the anti-BM commentators do not work in health care where they may come into contact with women and young children. Some of the opinions expressed about weirdness are damaging.

whatmeworry - I must have misread and misinterpreted your earlier posts as I did not realise that all along you had been qualifying your conditions of your posts with reference to the west. That is why I called you on it.
