Nope, last summer I started losing the weight after having DS (nearly 3 years ago) and was doing OK but then got pg again in December. I've eaten like a pig this time round so I am going to be monstrous after I give birth. Therefore it is full-on dietary boot-camp for me pretty soon as I am determined to get back to being a size 12 and I have a nasty feeling that I am going to be at least size 18.

FWIW, exercise + Slimming World was working really well for me before I got pg.

nethunsreject · 27/08/2011 21:07

I was the same, OP, with ds1.

I had ds2 14 mths ago and am now thinner than I was as a teenager.

So, there's your solution - 2 kids. Grin

Seriously, if you want to do it, do it. If you aren't in the right place mentally yet, then wait a bit as you'll be wasting your time. You need to be really ready to do it.

PerryCombover · 27/08/2011 21:16

YABU. I don't give a shit about my weight, it's boring.

Ohnoredundo · 28/08/2011 07:29

Yes. DS is five months. Breastfeeding.

jellybeans208 · 28/08/2011 07:39

Lost it in 2 weeks but I have no car and live in a very hilly area. Also maintained it as very physical job and had to push DD up to 6 miles a day in buggy. Best thing to do is go out with the buggy lots ime

firstforthought · 28/08/2011 08:34

Yes back to size 10 BUT, have a whopping "overhang" that will need some severe work to shift! DS is 10 months. Are sit-ups the only way??

MissPenteuth · 28/08/2011 21:05

firstforthought sit-ups, crunches and plank exercises will go some way towards toning your abdominal muscles but if there's a load of fat on top then you need to shift that to see much difference. And to burn fat you need to do cardio work (aerobics, running etc). If there's a lot of excess skin it might never go back to how it was (I'm finally resigning myself to the fact that I'll never again have a flat stomach :()

bakeyouhappy · 28/08/2011 22:19

Have a 6 month old, and no. Still squishier then before.

Wibbly, so boring that you had to comment? :)

pickledparsnip · 28/08/2011 22:28

Yes, but my bodyshape has changed. Really need to tone up!

inspireme · 28/08/2011 22:53

Ds1 is 8 wks and ive about a stone and 5 pounds to loose to get back to pre preg weight have been going to gym since he was three wks but havent lost anymore weight on scales but can notice difference wk by wk in clothes must be gaining muscle. I know its early days but i was slim before and just expected the weight to fall off i think. Im a bridesmaid in two months so hope to be near normal by then. Still think i have fluid to loose though.

Xenia · 28/08/2011 22:54

With the twins who were born at 40 weeks to the day (very unusual for twins and were 6 pounds 8 and 7 pounds 8 - very good weights for twins). Breastfed for about 18 months. When pregnant I went from 9 to 12 stone. A lot of that was the babies and their two placentae.

I remember I got back to 9 stone 4 by the time of my brother's wedding and they were 7 months by then. I only remember it because of the wedding. Not easy though. They were babies 4 and 5.

inspireme · 28/08/2011 22:58

By the way i know AIBU!

marriedinwhite · 28/08/2011 23:00

DS - put on 2 and a half stone and was two pounds less than pre preg by the time he was 6 weeks old - although infective mastitis and a breast abscess helped! DD - put on a few pounds more and got close to pre birth weight when she was about 11 weeks old and having a massive growth spurt and I was breast feeding. After that though, I never got closer to pre pregnancy weight than half a stone and it has crept up a bit over the years. Still within BMI but I struggle now to keep it down and it became much much harder when I turned 40.

charl2503 · 28/08/2011 23:01

I weighed after DS was born and was 2 stone heavier than before pregnancy. That was 10 weeks ago. Have lost 1st 8 now. So nearly there. But not quite.

blackeyedsusan · 28/08/2011 23:29

laughs.... as if

Bearskinwoolies · 29/08/2011 01:42

Yes, and slimmer, but I put on a shedload of weight with my dcs, (4st Blush) and struggled to lose the last 2st. It took having my gallbladder removed and several bouts of pancreatitis to lose the lot.

TartyMcFarty · 29/08/2011 10:05

DD is 18mths I had lost the weight after 9mths but was greedy over Christmas.and haven't found the motivation to sort it out properly since, so am now about 1/2st heavier. Have set myself a realistic Target of 1lb a week to get to 1/2st st below pre-baby weight by mid November. We're ttc again so need to give myself the best chance. I plan to eat better and be less nervous of exercise next time!

CharCharGabor · 29/08/2011 10:16

I am now almost 4 stone below my pre pregnancy weight with DD2 and 1/2 stone under pre pregnancy weight with dd1. I still have 1/2 to 1 stone to lose. I've always been overweight and for the first time ever I'm starting to be happy with the way I look! :) DD2 is 18 months btw.

CointreauVersial · 29/08/2011 10:22

Yes, I'm one of the lucky ones, pregnancy did something to my metabolism meaning I ended up lighter after each baby was born than I was before I was pg (I have three).

It did start to creep back after a few years, though.....

cocoachannel · 29/08/2011 10:26

Back to the weight I was when I conceived DD (now 6 months). It's the two stone I put on between my wedding and her conception I need to shift now...

JennyPiccolo · 29/08/2011 10:31

Put on about 3.5 stone, i have about 5lbs still to lose to get back to pre pregnancy weight. Dd is 9 months. I want to lose another 3 stone though.
