superv1xen · 27/08/2011 17:35

in fact i am lighter now than i was before i got pg with dc1

but i do work at it, it hasn't come naturally believe me.

georgie22 · 27/08/2011 17:41

I now weigh less than I did pre-pregnancy (dd's 10 mo) but that's only because I'm doing Weight Watchers. I stuffed my face throughout the winter and cringed at myself in video footage on holiday! Need to get back to looking good and slim before I go back to work. I feel loads better though after losing 1 stone but still have another 0.5 stone to go. It's actually not been too bad sticking to WW but I'm determined to get rid of the mummy tummy which is gross!!

ledkr · 27/08/2011 17:59

I am sadly 2 stone heavier and dd is 6 months,i have made half hearted attempts at losing it but time to exercise is limited and i also find when home with baby it is temting to reward myself with food when she sleeps. After the school hols i will be doing slimming world and shredding daily,am very unhappy at current size.

Huffythetantrumslayer · 27/08/2011 18:10

Am 5 pounds away from pre pregnancy weight and ds is 20 months! Have lost some weight and feeling better about myself which is nice as was getting bit depressed about it all. But need to exercise a bit more and then I should do it hopefully.

Huffythetantrumslayer · 27/08/2011 18:11

Though have consumed a fair amount of Wine so might be a bit more right now Grin

BeeMyBaby · 27/08/2011 18:14

I'd almost got down to my pre pregnancy weight (bar about 8 lbs) by 8 weeks after DD's birth, but that was due to a delightful d&v bug which lasted for two weeks whilst I was Bfing, otherwise I too would be well over 2 stone heavier at your stage. I can only advise that you lick a public toilet seat if you'd like to take advantage of my amazing dieting style.
It took me till I was pregnant with DC2 to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight (when DD was about 16mo).

I'm 1kg heavier than I was pre DS, however my body shape has changed, I'm thinner on my thighs but bigger on the tummy than I was pre DS. Sad

ticklebumpkin · 27/08/2011 18:16

Finally getting there now - 9 pounds left to lose, have lost 8 pounds in the last 6 weeks so it shouldn't take me too long. DD2 is 14 months though! I've only just got into the kind routine where I can go to the gym regularly as DD2 hasn't been sleeping through for long. I get up at 6.30 to fit it in.

Absolutely love being back in the gym, ran 4.5 miles this morning Smile

For the first time since I've been trying to lose baby weight I've put exercise first and forgot about calorie counting. I've found that the exercise is moderating my appetite anyway - but if I want something tasty I have it. It finally seems to be working.

happygilmore · 27/08/2011 18:26

I don't know how much weight I put on but was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans about 10 weeks after giving birth..sorry! I was very ill though after DD was born and lost most of it in the hospital to be honest, I wouldn't recommend it!

lazylula · 27/08/2011 18:30

I lost 3 stone in a little over a year (ds2 was 6 months when I started). I then fell pregnant with dd and now have about a stone and a half to 2 stone to lose. I am finding it hard to get motivated but I will do it, I know I can do it!

aStarInStrangeways · 27/08/2011 18:36

DD is 4 weeks old and I am mysteriously a stone lighter than I was pre-pregnancy. I was at least a stone overweight then though, so am determined to keep it off with diet and exercise this time.

I lost loads after my DS was born because he was such a greedy milk-guzzler that my copious cake and chocolate intake was siphoned off before it had a chance to turn into fat. Unfortunately the cake and chocolate habit outlasted the breastfeeding, hence ending up overweight. Really don't want that to happen this time.

MissPenteuth · 27/08/2011 18:41

I've just reached my goal weight in the last few weeks, and DD is almost 18mo. I put on 3st during pregnancy, although the first stone or so came off easily (baby, fluid etc).

I'm not quite back to pre-pregnancy weight because I was a bit too thin before I got pregnant, so I aimed for a couple of lbs heavier.

Flisspaps · 27/08/2011 19:03

Nope. Gained 2 1/2 stone, lost 1 1/2. DD is also almost 18mo.

sprinkles77 · 27/08/2011 19:26

9st 2lb when conceived DS. Lost about 10lb in first trimester due to sickness. Gained very little in 3rd trimester due to terrible heartburn. 10st 12lb by the time I was induced. 10st when I got home from hospital but had a great deal of fluid retention due to massive amounts of fluids given to me to keep BP up. 9 st 2lb when DS 4 months, most lost in first month as excess fluid lost. Now 8st 12 DS 17 months. Rest of weight lost with a combination of slim fast, walking and not being on the pill. It was mostly easy, but I would have happily gained more during pregnancy if it had meant that I had felt better and had a bigger baby (he was 5lb 11). But it would not have been guaranteed, and MWs were never concerned about my weight gain.

SootySweepandSue · 27/08/2011 19:39

No. DD is 12 mos and I've got 12 lbs still to go. Have already lost 20 lbs excluding baby weight/fluids etc !!! I'm only 5ft1 so I guess I got pretty huge in pregnancy.

It has been a flipping nightmare trying to lose the weight and still is. I find low carb works best for me but you have to be very strict and not cheat which has been very hard with all the social occasions, birthday parties and bbqs this summer.

Maternelle · 27/08/2011 19:56

I had just gone back to my pre-pregnancy weight and lost 2 stones (DS was 2.5!), when I unexpecpetedly fell pregnant with DD2.
I now have 2 stones to lose again :-(
DD2 is only 2 months though but am trying to stop the chocolate... Sadly BF doesn't do it for me. My body seems to be hanging to the fat even more.

YouDoTheMath · 27/08/2011 19:59

Molly well done. What exercise do you do, out of interest?

Red2011 · 27/08/2011 20:13

I think I'm beginning to gain again. Like earlybird I lost most of it from breastfeeding - was 9st 8 pre pregnancy, went up to 10st 9, then down to 9st 4 about 6 weeks ago (DD is now 7 months old and weaning)....but last time I weighed myself I was 9st 6.

I don't keep scales in the house, have weighed myself when visiting MIL (as they DO keep scales). Most of my clothes fit still but I still have a "flabby underbelly" post C-Sec. I've started going to a mother and baby group once a week, which entails a nice uphill walk for a mile and a half. I try to do it at speed, so hopefully that'll take off some more weight. However, I'll be going back to college soon and won't be able to make that meeting...so I guess we'll just be going for long walks instead.

fifitrixibellesmith · 27/08/2011 20:18

To ask you if you've managed to get back down to your pre-pregnancy weight?

no still working on it, 26 years and counting so far .......

WhiteTrash · 27/08/2011 20:19

Good question!

Ive been thinking this exact thing this evening. My baby is 3 months old, and I have ds1. Before either I was 9 stone. I put on 3 stone in both pregnancies and got down to 9 st 9lb after ds1 (couldnt shift that last 9lb). Im now 10st 3lb and I want to lose a stone. Or at LEAST 7-8lb.

My problem is right now, DC is having a growth spurt and feeding loada so Im starving!

Anyway, I basically cut out all the crap. I have no crisps, sweets, cakes in the house. No naughty pies or bacon and the like.

I have rivitas out all the time and snackajacks and eat those through out the day if I get that grazing urge. And I make sure the fruit bowl is always full. And I never buy white bread or white pasta. In fact I try to avoid both.

BsshBossh · 27/08/2011 20:19

I didn't put much weight on during pregnancy and what little I put on came off quickly during mat leave (all the walking DD in her pram to get her to sleep!). I went back to work, sat in an office all day, with no time to go to the gym and put on a few stones! DD now 3 and am back to pre-pregnancy weight due to following Paul McKenna eating principles and starting to exercise (power walking and now running).

whackamole · 27/08/2011 20:49

I was about 2 stone lighter after having had my twins as I had such bad sickness and general illness throughout the whole pregnancy. Also I craved all the good stuff rather than junk food!

Have been the same this time round, haven't gained any weight at all (am 32 weeks today) but as I started at 13 stone Blush I guess this is nothing to boast about! Hoping to not gain much between now and the birth, would like to be about 10 stone, particularly as I am getting married in June of next year.

(BTW - am not denying myself anything at all, just been ill again unfortunately. Including the last 10 days, I have lost over half a stone unintentionally)

Sidalee7 · 27/08/2011 20:55

I am about half a stone heavier than pre DC - when I got pregnant with ds1 unexpectedly i was a 20 a day marlboro girl - never gone back to it and eat more now!

I am definately fitter, run half marathons, triathlons which I NEVER would have done as a pre dc smoker.

I tell myself the extra half stone is muscle Wink
