And start stupid threads pretending to want to enter into real debate when all they want to do is post endless reams of dull shite?

justfor - I misunderstood the post, ignore me please. I thought she meant feminism was woman-hating (some people say that, I'm not being completely off the wall). I re-read and realize now she meant the fact the section is there made people take a second look at MN and realize what it's really like, who'd previously thought it was some kind of traditional mothering group. That makes sense.

Grin at namefor's hackles. I wonder, do dragons have hackles or spikes?

hackles and spikes I would think - in a pleasing geometric pattern.

justforaminute · 18/08/2011 11:16

LRD-
ah got you[thankyou]....no i tottally agree with you.
i think that THEY think they are though[activists of some kind]
complete bunch of tossers.

LRDTheFeministDragon · 18/08/2011 11:20

You may all be right - I seem to be in a minority abotu activism. I guess I always associate the term with people being very honest and quick to stick their colours to the mast. But you are probably right they think they are doing something valid.

Ah well, that makes it funnier when they get rattled and silly, I suppose. Silver lining to everything.

Whatmeworry · 18/08/2011 11:20

Are you hoping if you keep asking it we'll all suddenly give up and agree it must be our fault because we're too shouty and feminist for you

Sure, I gave you my opinion, and you disagreed with it, and I'm not going to debate the whys and wherefores with you.

But if I am wrong it must be something else, this is not - IMO of course - the norm.

justforaminute · 18/08/2011 11:20

whoops-sorry LRD-got a bit mixed up there-i forgot my own namechange-lol
i thought you was talking to me.

LRDTheFeministDragon · 18/08/2011 11:24

whatme - well why ask the bloody question if you don't want to debate it?! I just don't understand what you're getting out of it.

justforaminute - Grin My fault - I should type a ful name out but my useless brain trips up my typing and life's too short to constantly correct it.

justforaminute · 18/08/2011 11:49

mind you...they are proving a point[for us]about what some men are like.
cheers trolls.

solidgoldbrass · 18/08/2011 18:05

Oh Prolesworth has it bang on - the MRAs are in a pants-cacking frenzy about feminism on Mumsnet because the more women hear about and discuss feminism, the more it tends to spread. So they used to ignore Mumsnet because even though it was a bit scary (women talking to each other in large numbers, without any men!) they could kid themselves the women were talking about housework and babies and how to Please Men. And yes, housework, babies, and relationships with men get discussed on here, but now there's Feminism - and it's giving women ideas! Hence the desperate need to try to scare all the 'good' women away from the feminist topics by telling them that their wombs will fall out and their legs turn into wooly monstrosities and they might end up being NOT LIKED by MEN! Or ANYONE! Because feminism's HORRIBLE and women mustn't be able to find out about it...
