Do they get their Hogwarts letters, or what?

All the Steiner schools I know of (bar one, in a very expensive area where most people can't afford to live, only the plummy rich pseudo-hippies) finish at 11 or 13. It must be pretty difficult to make the transition to a bog-standard local school, surely?

I knew of one who went into mainstream. She was a bright girl, I'm sure she adapted ok.

Michael Hall in Forest Row goes up to 18. When we lived in that area it was noticable who had done so iykwim

Couple of things:
They could be homeschooled
They can go mainstream
They are at a stage where they can study online and apply early for 6th form college
They can go to international schools where they tend to study wider selection of subjects at a lower level than traditional schools
They are old enough to board at a senior Steiner school

Depends on the kid really. Most I know get crammed over the summer in the stuff they missed out on and enter mainstream school without too many problems - although admittedly they tend to be private schools. That's just my experience though, obviously it'll differ depending on each area/school.

in my secondary we had quite a few kids coming over to our school at 13/14, they all went back a year but otherwise did ok from there I think.

There is a Steiner school in Gloucester which goes up to age 18. GCSE results pretty good, A levels less so but not terrible, so they must have some kind of curriculum when they reach senior age.

Looks like a lovely school from the outside, dd wanted to go there!

My ds (14 in Jan) will be going back to his Steiner School where he will stay until he is 16 and has done his GCSEs. We are not plummy rich pseudo-hippies nor do we weave lentils or wave crystals.

I think the Bristol one goes up to 16 or 18.

Is not for me at all but can see why people would choose it if only as a cheap(er) alternative to private school.
