to wonder what happens to all the Steiner kids when they get to secondary age/13?

Do they get their Hogwarts letters, or what?

All the Steiner schools I know of (bar one, in a very expensive area where most people can't afford to live, only the plummy rich pseudo-hippies) finish at 11 or 13. It must be pretty difficult to make the transition to a bog-standard local school, surely?

we have one down the road,i live on 1 of the worst estates in brighton, the kids from the primary school behave better than the kids from the stenier school.

I have been put off Steiner schools as it seems to be 'survival of the fittest'. Behaviour isn't good-too many 'free spirits' takes away the freedom of the weaker. I have to admit I have formed my opinion from a small sample, so wouldn't expect them all to be the same.

Ours goes through till 19, also in glos but not the one already mentioned. I consider it to offer everthing I'd love to do if we home ed, as we done have the time/skills/patience to do so. Worth every bloody penny, prev catholic school they went to was shockingly crap.

I should add that discipline at ours is very rigid, as is appearance.

Good-I thought it was unfair to brand them all from my own experience.
