to think that the media have been silenced??

I may be well off the mark here, but I find it very difficult to believe noone has been seriously hurt or even killed during these riots!!

Does anyone get the feeling that the media has been silenced from telling us of said deaths or injuries?

If this is the case then good as it will only cause more outrage and more riots.

It is not beyond the norm to question the media, especially when the media is in such a fragile state as it is!

I am also wondering if the media is so thin on reports because it is under such scrutiny and if in fact if the phone hacking scandal wasn't out in the open if the police would have more information?

I wonder if the police are looking at known gang members to see if they can identify who is organising the meet ups?

Hellospoon- yes, they will be- the press have to be very careful about what they say about (photos of) thugs- so that they get a fair trial.....

If i had made a thread saying 'oh oh why has noone died' then yes that would be tasteless and yes i would deserve to get a load of shit for it.

But i didnt do that did i? NO, other posters have come on and said that the news is very thin and repetative in its reporting this is not a thread to oogle over peoples mis fortune it is about the discussion based around the media and how they are covering this horrible tradegy!

I have a feeling you are one of the rioters who has been organising all this hence why your being so fucking dumb right now

Well, well out of order, hellospoon. You and siamo are disagreeing strongly about your OP, but to speculate that she may be one of the rioters is compeletely uncalled for.

I do think your posts are over the top, and that's a shame because there is an interesting and important debate to be had here.
