No, not whats in it but where do you keep it (and address please)...

No seriously, do you have a place for yours or do you take it to your bedroom or what? This has been a source of confusion for me as mine always seems to be lying around or plonked on the kitchen table. Ive always wondered if people had a specila place for theirs or if they also just plonk theirs somewhere....

It is usually in the pushchair or in DD's toybox.

upahill · 07/08/2011 10:27

The ones not in use go on a shelf in the wardrobe.
The one in use could be anywhere!!!!
I normally come through the front door and put it in the hall, however if I go in the middle room first it could be found on the floor at the end of the settee.
If I've run up to the loo I could have dumped it on the landing.
I always have to trek round to find it!!!

BodyUnknown · 07/08/2011 10:30

Wherever I throw it. Usually in the hallway, on kitchen chair or under office desk. Often quite easy to locate as its contents have been scattered around it by DD. I should really learn to put it out of her reach, but it never happens as the only place she can't get to is the kitchen counter, and I don't like clutter on the counter! (Somehow I manage not to let the state of the rest of the house bother me)

FreeButtonBee · 07/08/2011 10:31

We have a bench in the hall with a rack with hooks above it for coats and jackets and other junk. Bag is normally slung on the bench.

Bags I am not using are either slung on the shelf on top of the rack or in two bigs boxes under my bed (which also hold wash bags, mini toiletries/bottles for hold etc).

Police advise taking it upstairs as soon as you get in, in case a sneak thief gets into your house (opportunist burglars tend to only target a downstairs room or two for portable objects, up to but not including the stairs).

just on the floor by the front door, otherwise i'm constantly finding the baby in my purse flinging cards everywhere and shredding money

DrNortherner · 07/08/2011 12:24

I always plonk mine in the kitchen on at the bottom of the stairs then dh takes it upstairs whilst moaning at me that one day it will be nicked.

nickschick · 07/08/2011 12:46

EuphemiaMcGonagall · 07/08/2011 13:16

I live in a bungalow, so I keep my bag in the centre of the house. Grin

redexpat · 07/08/2011 14:18

Mine hangs on the key holder by the front door.

TheLadyHare · 07/08/2011 14:23

I try to remember to take mine up to the bedroom, if I forget I know I will find it in my lab's bed in the morning.

(she has extremely good taste for a labrador) Grin

WhoWhoWhoWho · 07/08/2011 14:23

Mine hangs off a door handle usually.

My mum is really paranoid about things being left out and whenever she is round she is always bloody hiding my purse/keys/ handbag in a cupboard/drawer it's really annoying!

DogsBestFriend · 07/08/2011 14:27

Large everyday handbag and small everyday messenger handbag live on the floor by the sofa/on the footstool, a couple of other small bags are hanging from my wardrobe door handles, several others on shelf in the wardrobe, in boxes under my bed or in bottom of wardrobe.

scottishmummy · 07/08/2011 14:31

Mine hangs from the bottom of the bedframe. I used to leave it in the hall, but we got burgled and they took it from there, so it's NEVER in the hall now.

acsec · 07/08/2011 14:44

Mine hangs on the dining chair

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 07/08/2011 14:45

Usually in the bedroom, in front of the window so you trip over it if you want to stand at the window or close or open the curtains. This is not ideal I know. Otherwise it might be slung over a kitchen chairback, or in my boxroom office. I also like to complicate things by usually using a second bag that I carry on my shoulder (my main bag is a backpack) for overflow items and shopping I pick up during the day. I sometimes leave essentials like purse and diary in this extra bag and sometimes in my main bag, and often they're in different rooms, so I have to waste spend ages a bit of time coordinating everything and making sure I don't go out without something vital.

I need a new system.

MissPenteuth · 07/08/2011 14:45

Mine lives in DD's old carseat, which sits by the back door because we have nowhere else to out it even though she's grown out of it. The changing bag, which I use more frequently at the moment, lives next to the computer desk in the living room.

MissPenteuth · 07/08/2011 14:45

*out = put.

HighWolefsteem · 07/08/2011 14:50

Mine lives in the coat cupboard, which is in the hall.
