Last week my dad offered a hideous, dirty large piece of tat to my DS.

I declined to take it from his house, as I am not going to have it in my home.

He came over yesterday, and when I went into DS's room this morning it was in there.

I was furious, because now when I throw it out, DS is going to be upset. I am going to throw it out, it is too big to hide and horrid.

I rang him and explained that although he might think it is funny, it isn't, as my DS will be upset.

He swore and put the phone down.

I love sausages' idea of buying him a delightful gift. I am however very nervous of raising the stakes. My dad will win as I am very intolerant of clutter and tat. He used to delight in buying large plastic noisy toys for DS that would entirely dominate my living room. I did let him keep those

My dad once cleared out his back shed and stuck it all in his pal's car and sent it round to my house. I found his pal unloading it into my front garden.

"Wha .. wh .." I managed to stammer.

"Your dad said you needed some help. Here it is," he replied, as he tipped what I can only describe as a rusting artefactual montage onto my garden.
