to have just thrown water over my neighbour's cat?

I usually miss but got him this time.
I have a cat and wouldn't mind someone squirting him out of their garden but I just used a saucepan full and swore at him too.
Cat poo is so yukky. I have put up a fence to stop mine getting into my neighbour's garden after they complained and totally see where they're coming from as they grow a lot of food.
I'm on both sides of this arguement!

Gah damn phone - sorry Blush

DogsBestFriend · 30/07/2011 21:40

"The rspca say if a cat is pictured on a car, they will take them away."

WTF? I'd like to see them justify that in a court of law! Shock Angry

Please, please tell me who in the R$-fecking-PCA told you that little gem.

Can I add too that a cat can be exceptionally well fed and still eat birds so as much as I disagree with your neighbours for locking their cats out of the home it doesn't necessarily follow that they do not feed their cats.

picturelibrary · 30/07/2011 21:53

Pretty sure RSPCA couldn't do that!

GeraldineAubergine · 30/07/2011 21:59

Cat poo is stinky, my cat lives indoors and never goes Ou, we used to try and squirt him to stop him scratching the chairs but he seems to quite like it, contrary bugger. :)

Tiredmumno1 · 30/07/2011 22:00

They seriously dont feed them at all, they used to have a bowl outside with dried up food in it but nothing anymore, they dont even acknowledge them when they come out, they just get in their car and drive of, which i find sad for the cats, and i have no idea who it was at the rspca, i only asked advice and that was the answer

Tiredmumno1 · 30/07/2011 22:01

off

NevermindtheNargles · 30/07/2011 22:03

As a few people on this thread have shown, lots of people don't like cats. Every night when I call mine back I can't help but think of all the awful things people are prepared to do to them. Unfortunately people think that the odd poo is justification for some horrific cruelty. Broken glass is a popular deterrent round here. And now I learn that if my cats dare to sit on someone's car they might be taken away to live in cages. I wish more people would just chuck a cup of water over them to be honest.

DogsBestFriend · 30/07/2011 22:03

TM, sadly if the RSPCA weren't willing to take away <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=bruno+rspca+gsd+rescue+uk&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=0hw&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&biw=1025&bih=389&tbm=isch&prmd=ivns&tbnid=HbnfpW8KiVIlRM:&imgrefurl=www.germanshepherdrescue.co.uk/RSPCA-not-what-they-seem.html&docid=NyEkIyhRM6kJ-M&w=150&h=161&ei=j200TtWmNo3JsgbAwLW6Ag&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=489&page=1&tbnh=114&tbnw=109&start=0&ndsp=10&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&tx=64&ty=37" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this poor boy they sure as hell won't take away cats who sit on cars!

Mind you, knowing them, it's about their level... Angry

But, please, report them as unfed cats time and again until you get a result, and ask neighbours/family/friends to do the same, furnishing them with names, address and postcode of the owners first.

startail · 30/07/2011 22:04

I thought it was only my DH and his family who did this. Old fashioned washing up booties on stand by. Generally to defuse territorial disputes or stop over bold visitors sloping through the flap and helping them selves to a free lunch.

startail · 30/07/2011 22:06

Bottles, booties mil often had walking boots on and that would be mean!

TalkinPeace2 · 30/07/2011 22:19

There is no such thing as an unfed cat.
Cats have NO concept of boundaries, ownership etc etc
and they are the master scavengers
if their teeth are not rotten, they WILL find food.

My old cat was getting breakfast at at least three houses that I knew about.
And yet he still stole from our BBQ and stole thawing meat from a neighbours kitchen counter (in through the window)

RSPCA etc will NEVER get involved with a cat the YOU cannot see being fed.

FlamingoBingo · 31/07/2011 19:17

Our cat frequently doesn't eat the food we give her, and she's perfectly healthy. In fact, when we were away last week, our friends who popped in to let her in and out and feed her said that she frequently didn't want to come in at night (she often doesn't when we're home either) and ate hardly anything.

She's a very loved cat and spends a lot of time at home being cuddled and petted and is very happy at home - she's clearly equally happy out and about too, though!

In effect, then, yes, she's not fed much by us...but it's certainly offered to her! Hope no one takes her away because of it!

pointydog · 31/07/2011 19:22

yanbu

You don't need a pan ful. Just a small cup will do. Best way of getting rid of an annoying cat.

UpsyDozy · 31/07/2011 19:39

Wow, can I just say that RandomMess I wish you were my neighbour! Offering to buy water pistols for your neighbours and go round to clean up your cat's mess? My hat is off to you! Grin

I am forever chasing the cats out of our garden. I have a couple of those sonic cat repeller things and they seem to work. You just have to remember to change the batteries!

girliefriend · 31/07/2011 19:39

I have a cat and would be more than happy for some one to chuck water over him!!! Cat shit is disgusting and my cat has his own garden to crap in - if he strays into someone elses then I am happy for him to learn the hard way that its not a good idea!!! It would also be acceptable if he decides to have a fight at 5am or otherwise is being antisocial!!!

pointydog · 31/07/2011 19:40

yeah, I'd be happy for people to throw water on my cat if she was being a pest

royaljelly · 31/07/2011 19:46

Neighbours have a cat that they never let indoors, (they do take their rabbit in though), After months of clearing cat sh*t out of my flower beds I now keep a fully loaded pistol (of water) by the back door. Seems to deter it. Although I can't keep watch all night and it now seems to have taken a shine to my wood store that stinks to holy hell of poo.

Whatmeworry · 31/07/2011 20:02

Water pistols - get the DC in on the game.

Whathashappenedtomyboobs · 31/07/2011 20:05

Good for you! The cats should shit in their own garden!

TheBlackPanther · 31/07/2011 20:58

I had a nasty ginger cat come in my house constantly through our cat flap and corner our cat on numerous occasions, so i stuck it under the shower head for a few seconds.
Grin

TheBlackPanther · 31/07/2011 21:04

Ginger cats are evil

NevermindtheNargles · 31/07/2011 22:09

I have a ginger cat. My dogs are scared of him.
