to have just thrown water over my neighbour's cat?

I usually miss but got him this time.
I have a cat and wouldn't mind someone squirting him out of their garden but I just used a saucepan full and swore at him too.
Cat poo is so yukky. I have put up a fence to stop mine getting into my neighbour's garden after they complained and totally see where they're coming from as they grow a lot of food.
I'm on both sides of this arguement!

As long as it's only cold water, go ahead.

Years ago, some evil cunt threw boiling water over one of my cats. He was scarred for life on one flank. I wish I knew who it was...I would exact horrific revenge on the bastard.

Shock boiling water that's abhorrent!

Spuddybean · 30/07/2011 19:04

i always advise neighbours to keep a cup of water handy to chuck over my very naughty cat.

EauRouge · 30/07/2011 19:13

I have 2 cats and I wouldn't mind if one of my neighbours soaked them. Much better than an air rifle or a stone.

PaWithABra · 30/07/2011 19:14

buy an air rifle

GotArt · 30/07/2011 19:15

TinFairy That is awful.

There are sprinkler systems you can install that work on motion sensors to keep animals, mainly cats and deer, out of your garden. Its not cruel. Drowning them would be cruel.

catgirl1976 · 30/07/2011 19:16

yanbu

as you can probalby tell from my name I am fond of cats and have three myself who i adore. I throw water at intruders and wouldnt mind someone doing the same to mine. water only though - nothing that could hurt them.

alowVera · 30/07/2011 19:24

popsickle my neighbours cat buries hers; in my b**ping veg patch!

TheOriginalFAB · 30/07/2011 19:26

PaWithaBra Angry.

My friends cat was shot by a dickhead with a gun. You are not funny.

graceandbeauty · 30/07/2011 19:28

YANBU, and I suspect the cat will learn fast. We had one next door that kept pooping in our garden when the dcs were very small and DH used to go out with a broom. He never had to actually "use" it - the cat was smart enough to see him and scarper.

DogsBestFriend · 30/07/2011 19:33

I wonder what the response would be had it been a child offending the OP?

ginmakesitallok · 30/07/2011 19:38

Well if a child was sneaking into my garden to have a shit in my flowerbeds I would do the same as the OP...Grin

OP YANBU - cat shit is awful stuff, hope it worked!

michelleseashell · 30/07/2011 19:38

I love cats but I merrily chuck pints of water over the ones that come in our garden. My cat has no idea how to defend her territory so I have to do it for her. She just hides indoors until they're all gone.

That's horrible about the cat having boiling water on them. What kind of prick would do that? If I ever saw anyone hurt a cat, I would not be responsible for my actions.

slinkyboo · 30/07/2011 19:42

Ridiculous comment, PaWithaBra...I imagine your knuckles brush the ground when you walk Hmm

And I agree with most posters - throwing water over a cat is a good deterent. I have two cats and while I love them, all cats can be pooing pests!!

cyb · 30/07/2011 19:42

We have a loaded Super Soaker by the back door for this very reason

Woe betide any cat who shits in my garden

And squirrels get it up the jacksie too

slinkyboo · 30/07/2011 19:44

DETERRENT argh

LordOfTheFlies · 30/07/2011 20:03

PaWithABra not even funny in jest.
My rescue moggie had an air-pellet in her back.A centimetre down would have shattered her spine.
Would you find that funny?

BTW OP YANBU> I favour the cold water drench for trespasser felines.

alowVera · 30/07/2011 20:11

dogsbestfriend the kid would get more than some cold water thrown at it. Angry

Could you imagine kids climbing the garden fences to shit in the neighbours veg patch or flower beds. :o

Also cat shit has something in it (germ/virus/ whatever it's called) that can cause blindness!

alowVera · 30/07/2011 20:12

Toxoplasmosis.

stupefy · 30/07/2011 20:23

Children and Cats (or Dogs) are NOT equal.

DogsBestFriend · 30/07/2011 20:24

No, you're right, stupefy.

Damn right.

I know which I prefer....

Tiredmumno1 · 30/07/2011 20:25

Dogsbestfriend - what an odd comment to make, ah well i suppose there is always one that likes to turn it around

Tiredmumno1 · 30/07/2011 20:29

You try living next to people who have 2 cats that are out 24hrs a day, as they are not allowed in, so like to jump all over our car and scratch the hell out of it, and their 3 dogs in the poxy courtyard that bark and bark and bark for no reason, it drives us insane, any ideas would be welcome Grin

DogsBestFriend · 30/07/2011 20:29

Which, TM? That I wondered what the reaction would be if a child had offended the OP and thus she'd thrown cold water at it or that I prefer cats and dogs to children?
