There's only ONE Captain Jack worth jackshit on this planet and it ain't Barrowboy.

The fact that I just wrote that shames me.

:)

dizzyde · 24/07/2011 08:06

Ha ha. He is cringy. I agree. I met him 2 years ago. I sang on that show on the 1st series with Ronan Keating. JB is actually a really lovely guy.

Punkatheart · 24/07/2011 08:38

Met him too and yes, he is lovely. Full on, like a 100 watt bulb.

TandB · 24/07/2011 08:50

I certainly wouldn't want him to sing to me. I would want him to do naughty things to me instead.

I am now having some very distracting thoughts about Captain Jack Harkness and Captain Jack Sparrow....both together.

TurkeyBurgerThing · 24/07/2011 09:17

I LOVE the Barrowman.

Dam you all you ill-speakers to Hell. DAM YOU!

GreenEyesandHam · 24/07/2011 09:25

dizzyde I'm impressed!

ceebeegeebies · 24/07/2011 13:38

Dizzyde ooh the thought of being in the same place as John Barrowman and Ronan Keating at the same time has made me go a bit wibbly Wink

Some of my colleagues were on the first series and said JB was lovely - very friendly Smile

Fleurdebleurgh · 24/07/2011 13:42

JB makes me feel sick.

Revolting plasticky mannequin man. Ugh.

alowVera · 24/07/2011 13:51

Sorry guys, but I think he's lush. His husband is rather sexy too. Mmmmm.

Yvonne2010 · 24/07/2011 14:31

I liked some of the early Torchwood but I've gone off it. He seems like a very nice, happy person but I do find his loud 'Hah!' laugh really grating and the accent switching is odd. I did raise an eyebrow when I heard him say that he and his boyfriend walk their pet dogs in prams, that really is weird. Still, he's an entertainer and he's good at what he does. I'll just not watch the interviews anymore.

LineRunner · 24/07/2011 17:42

But he's on everything. All the time.

revolutionscoop · 24/07/2011 18:44

Is he Scottish with an affected American accent? Or did I imagine that?

Pixel · 24/07/2011 18:48

He's scottish but was brought up in America so he's got an excuse.

revolutionscoop · 24/07/2011 19:56

Fair enough, thanks for clearing that one up :)

LineRunner · 24/07/2011 20:24

Oh God I thought he was Canadian. From Nova Scotia.

You mean he doesn't even have THAT excuse?

HPonEverything · 24/07/2011 20:33

Can't stand the fella, never have been able to. He seems so disingenuous, and I definitely SO wouldn't.
I don't know the programme of which you speak but it sounds like my worst nightmare tbh.

pissovski · 24/07/2011 21:33

i like him :) I can understand he isn't to everyone's taste but he lively, fun and seems friendly and kind. I saw him on tour last year and his parents came on stage for part of the show. It was lovely to see, and you could certainly see where he gets his showmanship from! he always seems so enthusiastic and energetic too :)

OP - Love Me For A Reason is a fave of mine (from Boyzone association) so I certainly wouldn't mind him singing it to me! Maybe the song had a particular link for that lady. I just would love to hear him sing it again when i see him live later this year (2nd row seats!)

The accent thing - he was born and lived in Scotland till he was 8, when the family moved to USA. he didn't want to be bullied for being different, so developed the American accent.

To those of you who say you loathe/hate/whatever him, well fair enough (but i don't see any need for some of you to be quite so vicious really!), that's your opinion. I'm sure there are people you like that I can't stand! Be boring if we all liked the same people wouldn't it?

wearytraveller · 24/07/2011 23:46

Spoke to someone recently who was involved with one of the "set ups" for his show. They were told he would be around after for autographs, pics etc..... and he was awful. Wouldnt speak to anybody and was down right rude. OK, he may have been having off day, but really it would take so little effort to make these peoples day. proper put me off it did, loved him in DW and Torchwood. Sad

LineRunner · 28/07/2011 20:22

OK well it's only 35 minutes till Torchwood, with any luck the orange weirdly-accented fucker will die a horrible death and Welsh Gwen will bluddy triumph.

PIMSoclock · 28/07/2011 21:14

He's back!!!
Is it just me or are his teeth abnormally whiter this week???????????
