This is the third year now on the trot where we have hardly had a week of clear blue skys and sunshine. It's rain clouds and horrible summer weather.
Is anyone else fed up with it?

You are the weakest link, goodbye Grin

It has also been way too hot to cook, so we have become salad masters Grin

Mitmoo · 20/07/2011 20:27

goodynuff there is a whole pile of unsold Avon sunblock going begging in the UK, just don't think the postage will be worth it.

I couldn't be happier.

I can't stand the tyranny of hot weather- I am ginger and look shit in hotpants.

I wore black opaques today Smile

BitOfFun · 20/07/2011 20:29

But we've been having a beautiful summer! It's only a few days of rain, and the flowers need it- what's the problem?

noyouhavehadawee · 20/07/2011 20:30

Well we camped last year and then seperatly holidayed in the uk and i have good warm sunny memories - like a fool we have booked 2 seperate weeks in the hols in the uk - may live to regret it. It will be sunny in norfolk it alwys isisnt it?

knitknack · 20/07/2011 20:30

Global warming doesn't mean we get hotter! It means extremes of weather and lots of suffering (blimey, must stop taking these magic happy pills!)

RosieMapleLeaf · 20/07/2011 20:31

Goody, I think you are close to me! I am in the Georgian triangle, thinking about sleeping in the basement tonight (and we actually do have AC in the house - just not doing much upstairs).

WannaBeMarryPoppins · 20/07/2011 20:33

Ok, who else wants to join me on a mass MN move to Canada?

Goodynuff · 20/07/2011 20:34

Rosie I am on the north side of Lake Nippissing I would give just about anything for a/c right now!
We are making do with one fan...one....sigh
We only have windows on two sides, so we can't get a cross breeze, not that there is a puff going spare.

catgirl1976 · 20/07/2011 20:35

I was born in canada and by rights should still be there, but when I was 4 my parents decided that they missed England. I love them but it is hard to forgive Grin

RosieMapleLeaf · 20/07/2011 20:35

Wanna, I feel it's only fair to tell you that 6 months from now, we will be complaining about the -25C, '-40C with the windchill' temps. Grin

Whatevertheweather · 20/07/2011 20:36

Goody - my sister lives in Waterloo, ON and she says they are literally melting!

Yanbu - don't even want mega hot just blue skies gentle breeze summery atmosphere! Am currently 30 weeks preg and everyone said I'd find it hard it the summer Hmm

Goodynuff · 20/07/2011 20:36

Seriously, we have spent 40$ on sun block so far this month

WannaBeMarryPoppins · 20/07/2011 20:38

I have lived in NY before with -20 something degrees, but never colder than that. Not sure I can do that?
But then Glasgow seems to be the same weather in summer and winter, I think I would prefer extreme seasons over cold with rain and warm-ish with rain.

So no, I am coming, you can not hold me back Grin

(where is my suitcase?)

Goodynuff · 20/07/2011 20:39

Whatevertheweather I heard on the 'network that Waterloo, London and Windsor are set to break records tomorrow...your poor sis!

Seriously guys, come on over! We're friendly, we get hot summers, and just wait 'til you get a chance to drive in one of our whiteoutsGrin

Whatevertheweather · 20/07/2011 20:43

Aha I do like to remind her in the height of summer and depths of winter that one of the reasons they chose to emigrate there is was the 'extremes' of the seasons GrinGrin

Her humidex was 46 today have to say I could not cope with that!

Mitmoo · 20/07/2011 20:45

I think the Canadian posters and the Uk posters need to do a houseswap for a month, we'd either both emigrate to the other's country or be damned grateful for our glorious or crap weather. Grin

Goodynuff · 20/07/2011 20:49

I'm up for it Grin I can offer lakeside living, a beer store, a wine rack, and an l.c.b.o. within a 2 block radius.
Might I please get someone who lives near a castle? I'd love to explore one! Or really old places. The oldest place around here is about 100 years old Grin

curlyredhair · 20/07/2011 21:00

Oooh, I've got a two bedroomed semi 12 miles from Central London and very near Leeds Castle and Hever Castle. Would you be interested? Have got 3 cats though.

Meglet · 20/07/2011 21:02

YANBU.

I have sorted out all my summer clothes, we have mini-milks in the freezer, sunblocks and hats are all ready to go..... but no summer Sad.

RosieMapleLeaf · 20/07/2011 21:09

I can offer a detached house in a lakeside community, many trails in town and the Niagara Escarpment nearby, world's largest fresh water beach in the other direction, a/c in the house and a pool in the backyard. Pool feels very much like a bath at the moment, but no matter!

Ba8y1 · 20/07/2011 21:15

I love the rain.... I love the way it smells, I love the way it makes everything greener even here in London, I love the way it sounds. I love the wind, I love being wrapped up in warm clothes listening and watching the horrid weather outside.

I only like the sun in spring when there is a crisp, cool breeze. I hate the heat and I hate hate hate the humidity.

I am very happy right now.... Wink with my rain and my Wine......

Ba8y1 · 20/07/2011 21:16

Oh in case you hadn't guessed OP.... YABVVVVVVVVVVU

sausagesandmarmelade · 20/07/2011 21:18

April has just swapped places with July this year....

Simple!

Easter was baking hot...gloriously sunny and we had a drought.

Now it's July we are effectively having our April showers
