Possibly oddest thread since 'revision biscuits'
Am enjoying hugely, more details please

GeraldineAubergine · 17/07/2011 22:18

Well it's not just pans you know, there was a terrifying chopping cylinder device as well, we could take turns dressing each others lacerations too.

ScaredyDog · 17/07/2011 22:19

What was the brand?

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/07/2011 22:24

Forgive me mumsnet, for I have sinned. When I was 18, I worked for Kirby for 2 weeks. I destroyed one carpet and removed all of the stitching from one mattress.

NorksAreMessy · 17/07/2011 22:25

Chopping cylinder thing is clearly better than a boring old knife.
Do you think you can cut hair with it?

IslaValargeone · 17/07/2011 22:26

I too need pm'ing. I have invested far too much time following this thread not to know the brand.

GeraldineAubergine · 17/07/2011 22:30

I hope I have sent appropriate pan messages to those who asked. I'm pretty sure you could cut hair with the integrated food chopping thing but I fear the results would be somewhat avant gard.

One last thing which is tempting me pan wise and that I will share with you is that pan lady was able to boil an egg in a nest of sweetcorn using no water. Witchcraft.

IslaValargeone · 17/07/2011 22:35

I may have to hide this thread as I'm now getting seriously tempted.
In fact Geraldine, I think this is a clever ruse and you are indeed THE PAN LADY!

Me too anothermum, but then I have led a sheltered life. I am definitely not the pan lady, sadly my pans are all grotty hand me downs.

Could someone pm me too please? I simply must know more about these culinary essentials!

NorksAreMessy · 17/07/2011 22:43

...instead of the conventional way? Like with water? And no sweetcorn?

Confession, DH did buy a pan from the county show because a man showed us how to make toffee in it and the toffee didn't stick.
And we got to eat the toffee.

Pan cost £90 and is used every day at least three times and is utterly brillinat.
We might have bought another if it could cook a kipper alongside rice pudding or make an omelette with a victoria sandwich filling

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 17/07/2011 22:43

onepieceofcremeegg not even chilli & tequila lemon drizzle cake (with optional sugar fondant worm)?

FellatioNelson · 17/07/2011 22:47

£3k is too much for pans. I like a nice pan and I like spending money on lovely things, but even I am not that stupid.

GeraldineAubergine · 17/07/2011 22:47

She also grated a bit of carrot and dropped it in an inch of water then made us eat it to somehow prove my conventional pans were leeching both goodness and taste from my food. I'm making this sound mad but it was very convincing at the time.

Eaglebird · 17/07/2011 22:49

Save your £3k ladies, you don't need pans.
Many years ago on holiday my good friend and I couldn't get the hob to work. Not to let a minor electrical calamity stand in the way of a tasty snack, she boiled some eggs in the kettle, and also made packet soup in the kettle.

She didn't try to make cabbage cake in the kettle, but I'm sure it would have been delicious if she had.

Spend the £3k pan money on wine. And decent cake.

IslaValargeone · 17/07/2011 22:51

Geraldine, buy a £20 steamer for your carrots.

NorksAreMessy · 17/07/2011 22:51

Remember Letitia Cropley from the Vicar of Dibley...inspiration?
I wonder how one becomes a 'pan-party-planner'
Do you think there is a PanUniversity where they teach you how to make lemon curd and faggot surprise for an audience?

HHLimbo · 17/07/2011 22:52

Were they pans like

GeraldineAubergine · 17/07/2011 22:53

Mmm faggot surprise.
