My DS1 came round this morning to pick up some stuff to go to a festival this weekend.

Nice to seem him

BUT.

HE HAS CUT ALL HIS HAIR OFF!!!! Shock

I dont care that he is 17 and doesnt even live at home.
I dont care that its his body and his head and his hair.
I dont care that he is still very handsome.

HE CUT HIS LOVELY DREADLOCKS OFF. He has had them for years. They took years of loving care (by me) to get looking so beautiful.

And now they are gone

His reason? So he can get more modelling work Hmm

He isnt a model by they way but expects to be snapped up any minute. He IS very good looking but its hardly a career plan.

Anyhow. I dont care. HE CUT HIS HAIR OFF.

Now flame me for being a controlling matriarch who cant cut the cord. Go on.

Dare I google elephant hair ring?

Hmm
thefirstMrsDeVere · 07/07/2011 14:44

Well EXACTLY! peerie Thats what I said.

You need to understand that my son is of the opinion that not having modelling work has nothing to do with him not actively pursuing it Hmm

I do love him but ..

melekza I dont have the words to express how horrible the thought of that jewelery is bluegh. But thanks for the idea Grin

I have no idea how my son's mind works. I gave up some time ago. I do not know how he will become a supermodel without any photographs.

He is very handsome (I have yukky moments because friends sort of fancy him) but he isnt so incredible that a scout will somehow be drawn to him via his beautious aura floating throught the ether from East London to Soho.

Our perhaps it will. He has always been a jammy bugger.

It won't be like any of the other dare I googles. Elephant hair is quite thick, like wire. so can be made easily into manky very attractive rings n stuff.

There are quite a few horse hair jewellers who make quite nice things for people who are too fond of their horses.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 07/07/2011 14:46

No its worse.

I dont have to watch him have sex (OMG).

I have to look at his tatty flipping head though.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 07/07/2011 14:53

ruthieCohen · 07/07/2011 14:57

PS YANBU. Pretty boys with dreads are the BEST.

melezka · 07/07/2011 14:57

They're so wrinkly...difficult.

DoNotTakeMeSiriusly · 07/07/2011 14:58

You gonna have to tell him that modeling work wont come if he keeps pulling funny faces at cameras... unless he plans on becoming like Zoolander! Grin

thefirstMrsDeVere · 07/07/2011 14:59

Damn fool boy.

He will soon get annoyed at the lack of attention from the girlies. I reckon he has been taking it for granted.

I shall say very loudly 'told you so'

OP posts:
melezka · 07/07/2011 14:59

I suppose I should admit at this point that when I was his age

I got my nose peirced. (this was in the 80s and people stared)
Had a mohawk
Got orange and black dread that came down past my bum
Wore a chain from nose to ear
Dyed my hair a different colour every week.
Lived in squat in Brixton.

But thats not the point!
