My DS1 came round this morning to pick up some stuff to go to a festival this weekend.

Nice to seem him

BUT.

HE HAS CUT ALL HIS HAIR OFF!!!! Shock

I dont care that he is 17 and doesnt even live at home.
I dont care that its his body and his head and his hair.
I dont care that he is still very handsome.

HE CUT HIS LOVELY DREADLOCKS OFF. He has had them for years. They took years of loving care (by me) to get looking so beautiful.

And now they are gone

His reason? So he can get more modelling work Hmm

He isnt a model by they way but expects to be snapped up any minute. He IS very good looking but its hardly a career plan.

Anyhow. I dont care. HE CUT HIS HAIR OFF.

Now flame me for being a controlling matriarch who cant cut the cord. Go on.

Haha.

He is very striking and does get lots of sideways squints from older women. Its horrid.

What was even horrider - I went to a carboot sale with him and the two babies. We were browsing and it became quite clear that several people assumed we were a couple.

OMG OMG OMG. I felt weird for days and days.

bleugh bleugh

tinker you sure you want me for your DD's potential MIL? Could lead to some interesting AIBU threads in the future Grin

Also, I think it's rather inappropriate to be equating Lenny Kravitz and an esteemed MNers 17 year old son in my mind

Can I just ask - are dreads not really really heavy? Am imagining having headaches a lot. I do like the way they look.

I suppose I should admit at this point that when I was his age

I got my nose peirced. (this was in the 80s and people stared)
Had a mohawk
Got orange and black dread that came down past my bum
Wore a chain from nose to ear
Dyed my hair a different colour every week.
Lived in squat in Brixton.

But thats not the point!

Damn fool boy.

He will soon get annoyed at the lack of attention from the girlies. I reckon he has been taking it for granted.

I shall say very loudly 'told you so'

You gonna have to tell him that modeling work wont come if he keeps pulling funny faces at cameras... unless he plans on becoming like Zoolander! Grin
