I wonder how all this can be solved? I think as far as the rich/poor argument is concerned that we all agree that people suffer from these cuts. How do we balance this out without shutting down businesses?
If taxes are raised higher, a lot of businesses will refuse to hire more, if they are lowered, the government will be unable to pay its debts. It seems like a lose-lose situation to me.

"higher use of alcohol and drugs?"

Is why more men are homeless? The feckless miscreants, it's all their own fault, even the ones with mental disabilities. See how the feminists care about the plight of men.

LorieVahn · 05/07/2011 15:30

I mean, the only other thing I can see that might help is private charities and fundraising. Community organizing would also help. The Euro is pretty much looking like a house of cards right now...and the entire west's economic status looks bleak.

MarySue what does FTW stand for I wonder?

Hullygully · 05/07/2011 15:32

claig - jamez is fabby dab dab. His website is: "Wimminz is horrid bitches and Menz is all great and victims.com"

LorieVahn · 05/07/2011 15:32

When we place that into the perspective of equal rights, we are probably looking at a step backward for everyone if the economy collapses. We won't be able to depend upon the state to enforce its own laws...much less pass any new meaningful ones that will help people.

It was on another thread - but can't remember the title.

claig · 05/07/2011 15:33

couldn't he have chosen a snappier title for a website? I'm not going to type all that in.

"so all we need to say is what you think even if we disagree?"

If you don't want to look silly for claiming the cuts are an attack 'squarely aimed at women', yes. All of the figures involving poor women could probably apply to ethnic groups, or the disabled, but if somebody said these cuts are aimed squarely at the disabled I'd say the same thing, that they are aimed at the poor, poor families especially, but you are mistaken for thinking it's all about targeting you. I don't see how that doesn't make sense.

LOL..FTW is used by those who follow sports. It means "For the win". My friends use it all the time when talking about soccer and hockey online.
