to think i should be able to keep my own name?

Me and the dp have been talking about our future, he said when we get married i should take his last name. He has a good name, however we had an argument over it because I wont part with my last name, I dont want to and there is no need, he just doesnt understand, I cant explain it to him.

I honestly just don't see why people are bothered.

My DSis changed her name because she wanted to have the same name as BIL - if I ever get married, I won't change my name, because I like my own name.

These are just personal choices and I do not, in any way, shape, or form, understand anyone who has an issue with what anyone else does, or even comments on it. I mean, wtf tries to pressurise someone to change their name?? Something so personal?
